I'm at home with my brother and he started not feeling good a couple of hours ago. And then he ran to the bathroom and vomited 4 times! And then he went to lay back down and he just ran in the bathroom and vomited again. Now he has diareah. I dont know what to do. I have him some pepto bismol and a soda to help calm his stomach because that's what helps me. But its not helping him. What's something I can give him to help him. Name anything even if I have to fix it for him like food or something. What's some good medicine or anything. Thanx lots.

Soda is NOT okay to give when someone is vomiting or has diarrhea. It only dehydrates them more.

Dont allow him to have any fruit juices or dairy products whatsoever.

Gravol may help him with his nausea and he should be drinking diluted Gatorade to help his electrolites.

If its been a while since he last vomited, he can try eating a plain cracker or two, or plain toast. No butter, etc though. If he is able to keep that down for an hour, he can have a bit more.

If he continues to vomit and have diarrhea for another few hours, or if there is blood present in his vomit or stool, then he should go to an ER. You dont want him to dehydrate.

he might have a slight case of food poisoning. what did he eat last? if it's that or a case of the flu, it should be over in 24 hours or so. if he starts running a fever, continues to throw up or diarrhea, he could become dehydrated and would need to go to the Emergency Room. (try sucking on ice chips for hydration) Especially if he is under 13 or 14 yrs old. watch him closely, and watch the fever. Good luck to you and hope he feels better soon!

. Just sips of water as long as he's throwing up,and see what happens.
This could be a stomach virus. They're scary, but quite common.
A few weeks ago,I had one. In 3 days, all I had was 2 small cups of jello and a few sips of water. After 3 daysI could handle a little more Jello, and ginger ale (sips) on the 4th day i felt a little better, and on day 5 I felt fine.
If he is in pain, any blood in the vomit, get to the ER, but this sounds exactly like my bout with the stomach virus. You just have to let it run its course.

You can get him Emetrol, it is for vomiting, and Immodium AD for diarrhea. Some of the time, nothing helps, and the virus has to run it's course. He shouldn't eat anything but clear broth and drink liquids. When you are having intestinal problems, you cannot digest anything you eat. It will cause more cramping.

First off where are your parents?

Give him some water just barely cool NOT cold or some flat white soda that's room temperature like sprite or 7up... try giving him saltines... Ask him what he ate or drank that day. If you think he ate something that's making him sick take him to the ER or call 911... or call a family member or neighbor you trust..
If you have any doubt go call 911

I would recommend that he be taken to the ER to have the drs there evaluate him. They can determine whether or not this is food poisoning or some kind of a virus.

In the mean time if you have any ginger ale or 7 Up and Sprite you could try that.

As for your parents if they are sleeping please wake them up to let them know what is going on.

Give your brother plenty of water to drink so that he is not dehydrated, and take him to see a doctor.
