..so why do people get so bent out of shape over evolving from monkeys?

Humans are animals no matter what you want to call them, mammals or primates or homosapiens. God is imaginary and so are souls! So saying "animals don't have souls" is lame! And believing that your imaginary sky daddy (created by MAN), rules over you and in turn you rule over animals is ridiculous and amusing! At least evolution makes sense.

Maybe people dont want to accept the truth!
Because there is NO WAY that we could have just started on earth the way we are today, we would have had to evolve!
Besides there was no oxygen to start of with on earth, and only cells lived on the earth until they began to photosynthesise and fill the world with oxygen killing other cells but then new ones ADAPTED! its all about adaptation!

We had to adapt from something to be what we are today,

if you check out this site here it has some info. on different opinions of how we evolved!

I don't get bent out of shape about being evolved from monkeys because I know it didn't happen. As for human beings connection with animals, it is true that humans have many characteristics which are similar to animals. With that said, though, they have plenty of characteristics which are not like any animal. For example, animals do not have souls, where human beings do. Humans were ordained by God to rule over all animals. Humans were given an innate sense of morality where as animals were not. Shall I continue?

Well, if it isn't monkeys what else. We get bent out of shape simply because we were spanked at birth so we could breath. And now its the monkeys fault. If not that than something else like the flat tire or the lazy dog or the neighbor who never returned the tool from your garage.

Human beings are not animals (by definition).

And most people get irate because human beings did not evolve from monkeys - humans and monkeys are descended from a common ancestor.

Dunno, other than the fact that we didn't evolve from monkeys any more than we did from dirt. Monkeys evolved from monkeys, humans evolved from humanoids, like Cro-Magnon.

All living, thinking, structured beings have souls.

I have no idea. I think they should pick up a book about evolution and read it before commenting.

Because it's nonsense. Where's the proof? Do you like bananas that much?
Show me in your geneological records that your great-great. . . . . . . great grampa was an ape.
Otherwise, why do you get so bent out of shape when logical people disagree with you?

human beings are animals...we like to consider ourselves as "higher level thinking animals"...i think its just an ego problem...that 1) it conflicts with religious beliefs and 2) we do not want to be compared to monkeys because of some of their habits which are concidered as uncivil to some...
