Bad puns probably shouldn't be translated to canvas even if you coined them yourself. So, cartoonish social comentary aside, this thing has me baffled. Is it as bad as I think it is and should it meet a justified demise?

Seriously, guys, do you go through this when you attempt a new style? A different direction? Do you ever go through a period where you don't know what you think of what you're doing? Where you don't know if what you're doing works or fails, has merit or is crap?

I painted out the word '****' and painted in the original spelling to complete the French phrase. Then I painted over the glairing red hearts and made them a matching purple. I still don't love the painting but at least now I don't hate it.

You hate it now. And I agree it is a bad pun...but a nice piece of **** ..er ..art.

I reused 5 paintings thinking they were crap..regret every single one...took me 10 years to get that far but it happened.

I have done many bad things ( like 'copying' Michael Angelo) foodart...footart... don't ask. Still it got me further. You don't know what it brings..it just gets you going and one day...there is that briljant idea...that results in even more crap...untill you distilled it into something you are happy with...vaguely.

It takes years to see what you actually went through. Lesson I learned is never EVER throw out anything. Ask my parents that still hold a 'treasure' of crap I painted when I studied art. There are still some hidden gems there.

Really, just because you don't like something doesn't mean you should change or destroy it. I won't even go into examples of this because they are so predictable. Art is art, whether it's made by a two year old's scribbles or a twenty-five year old who is making a future museum piece. Many paintings and sculptures may look simple or childish, but it's still art, whether you like it or not.

I would keep it, i for one have done lots of paintings and drawings over the years and destroyed them. some of which i regret destroying now. never paint over a painting i think now, maybe add something but never get rid of them. could be your style, and may go down well with some.

DONT paint over this because art should NEVER be destroyed and never can be!!! its beautiful in any way u look at it and know that somthin u dont think has beautiful potential someone, somewhere will look at it and fall in love.
