Lawyers do not take a Hippocratic oath that requires they do no harm, which I think is a shame.

If the lawyer does harm, however, a person could report him/her to that state's bar association. Depending on the offense, that lawyer could lose his license.

You could also try sueing the lawyer, but for obvious reasons I wouldn't recommend it.

Change the "o" to an "i" and it often seems that the answer to your question is "yes."
