For a while now, I've been able to feel something in my lower back move. It moves out then back in. It hasn't hurted until a month ago. I thought it would go away on its own, but it hasn't. Now, it hurts to sit, walk, lay....really to do anything. My doc appt. isn't until next week. I just want some ideas as to what it could be. I know it's not normal.

In addition to the nerve and muscle, and disk possibilities there is another that could be playing in to this is that it could be a problem related to the bones themselves. The only way to find out for sure is to see a dr but because your appt is next week I wouldn't wait. I would try a walk-in clinic or the ER if you can't get in to the walk-in clinic (some big drugstores have them in their buildings as well).

Since it hurts to sit, lay, walk etc do not wait for the docs appointment. Go now and get it checked out before it causes further damage or problems.

The list could go on forever. Best suggestion is see a doctor and a chiropractor. It could be as simple as a stained muscle or pinched nerve or it could be a slipped disk. What ever it is get to a professional asap.
