Life as a whole is much like a spider web. Each individual life (or species, ecosystem, or any other division) is little more than a strand in that web. When one strand breaks, the entire web looses some of it's strength and integrety. When enogh strands break, the web collapses.
In short, no life is more sacred than another. All life is sacred--human and otherwise.

I do not believe any life is more sacred or precious than another which is why I do not believe in abortion or euthanasia or doctor-assisted suicide for elderly or infirmed. With that said, though, I do believe in justice and, therefore, I believe in the use of capital punishment. I also believe that in some very extreme cases choices must be made which end up sacrificing some number of human lives. Although this is regrettable and must not be taken lightly, it is still an eent that is often mistaken for insensitivity.

Actually on the soul level it can not. We are all parts and parcels of God and He loves everyone unconditionally. But in this world we all have different bodies covering our souls and consciousness. Even animals, plants, trees, bugs, aquatics, birds etc. all have souls, the outer covering is just the body. Animals are allowed to kill and steel or whatever and they are not responsible for the reactions of their actions. But Humans have higher intelligence and are responsible for their actions and they will get their reactions (karma) This is the laws set by God and held by Nature. in this world we have certain responsibilities according to our body and nature.(dharma) For info on dharma and karma, go to harekrishnatemple.com Read Bhagavad Gita as it is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada tells all. All life is precious and we should not take the life or cause violence unnecessarily to any living entity. But we must protect the innocent, weak and oppressed.

Man 's standards make one life more precious than another.
If one is educated, rich, beautiful, talented, etc., they seem to be more precious . Only in God's eyes are all sacred and precious because He has created each one special and unique. He loves each of us as if we were the only one.

Easy. I think my life, with all my volunteer service to the local SPCA, is more precious than Charles Manson's life.

No life is more precious than another. Which is why I don't prescribe to this nonsense that humans are above animals.

on a personal level, a newborn baby is the most sacred and precious
on a higher level, there is a pyramid of who's who
politicians, doctors, lawyers, celebrities count more than the poor man

Some people just suck at life. A smart fit person is more precious then a handicapped retard. Obviously.
