Why are you impulse buying puppies. Totally unprepared, don't even know what to feed them! How irresponsible! You should know these things BEFORE you bring living animals into to your life that are depending on you.

I read the responses others have posted and their ideas are fine for most puppies. But, it sounds like you might have a couple of picky eaters on your hands.Canned food is a good way to start- Pedigree or Mighty Dog is excellent, both brands make a puppy formula that is basically meat cut into really small pieces that make it easier for a small dog to eat. Some flavors they might like would be the chicken, turkey or lamb- of course there's nothing wrong with feeding them any of the other flavors available. Another idea would be to try them out on something you make at home. You could try baking or broiling some chicken without seasoning and cut it into small pieces and offer it to them. Or, you could brown some hamburger meat or ground turkey without adding any oil to your skillet (maybe use cooking spray, if you need it) and crumble it into small pieces. Either way, let it cool first. I have fed my dog this from time to time as a treat and she loves it. It won't hurt them, as long as you don't add any seasonings or extra oil. Also, there is a "gravy" stuff you can buy in the dog food aisle of most stores that is made to put on dry food to give it extra flavor..some dogs really like that. It just adds a little flavor and moisture to the food and can encourage them to eat. When you put them on a dry food, I suggest Pedigree Small Breed. The pieces are much smaller than any other brand I've tried, and my little Dachshund loves it. Good luck to you!

I agree with the first answer, but to answer your question, you need to go buy a quality puppy food. I recommend Nutro wet or dry food. Check the back and follow the instructions based on dogs weight. You normally dont have to worry about puppies eating too much as they are growing and will be hungry. Also get them to the vet and ask all your questions because this will help familiarize you with being a puppy parent.

Puppies need to eat at least twice a day for the first year. Give puppy vitamins the first year too.
Only feed Puppy chow for the first Three months. Let them eat dry kibble too (moisten a little with warm water if they are really young pups. Whatever you feed them when young is what they will eat when older, you know ,like people.....
Don't forget the raw vegetables...my dogs love green beans and raw carrots to chew on and eat. These are great for dogs vitamin wise and also kill hunger pains when older without adding weight.

If they are puppies I'd start with a soft canned food and as they mature add some hard food meant for small breeds to the soft. Later, you can move to all hard food if that is what you want. Daily amounts should be listed on the pet food of your choice. Try to pick a brand that is mostly Chicken or meat product and not corn or rice. You'll know because that will be the first ingredient on the package. Good luck with your pups.

Puppy food should be available to them at all times. You can give them canned puppy food as a treat. Both puppies are very small and at their sizes are prone to hypoglycemia. Keep food available to them. Make an appointment with a vet, they will give you lots more information about care and feeding.
Note* To the added details if they are not eating, are they active or are they lethargic. If they are lethargic, get them to a vet.

I am with Freedom on this. 100%!
This is the reason why pet shops (Malls) should not be selling dogs in the window because idiots see one, want one and have no idea what to do with it. They are not toys they are living creatures that only have you to rely on!

how old are they? this is something that you needed to check out BEFORE you got the dogs. buy a brand name, GOOD, dry dog food. i hope that these dogs are at least 8 weeks old. otherwise, you got them too early. talk to your vet, and make sure that they have a lot of fresh water. read the bag of dog food. don't get Iams, or any other crap food. get Purina, etc. talk to the vet on Monday. they will probably need ALL their shots, and a checkup. i think that unless you know what you are doing, it might not have been a smart move to get them right now.
