You say that you do not believe in God because no one can prove that they exist. But if you have not been to China, how do you know that China exists and that it is not just some controversy that people have made up?

For those talking about images. I am asking how do you know that those images aren't fake and that chinese people are not really something else and that the maps and satellite images of china are fake and that all its history has been carefully crafted just as you claim the bible is.

I mean no offense to chinese people and would happily just use any other country. China just popped into my mind.

You’re right! That’s it, I don’t believe in China.

I’m sure many Atheists have many different reasons for not believing in a god. Personally, I need a good reason to believe in something, but I don’t feel I need a really good reason NOT to believe in something, because the truth is that I don’t have a really good reason for not believing in pink unicorns either. I think I have a fairly good reason to believe in China though.

You may wish to consider referencing a map or satellite photo and after that crafting another analogy? Then again, from reading your question, perhaps it better not to further stress the limits of your reasoning ability?

Just a thought.....

I think you've uncovered something most important. The fraudulent claim for the existence of China is the result of a calculated historical conspiracy of epic proportions, carefully crafted and involving historians, map-makers, writers, etc., and to this present day involving even NASA, news agencies, the President and elected officials and unelected appointees, including the Secretary of State, and practically all other persons (except for you...and now me, of course). We MUST inform everyone of this fraud, brother! Any suggestions?

Look, how the atheists are arguing to prove 'no god' on the same line as the theists argue for 'god is'.

'China exists' is just a belief with some probability different for different people (say 0% for ignorant, 30% for map-watcher, 95% for traveler, 99% for Chinese citizen). Same for god.

What about the atheists though.

I can visit china, I can get picture of china, I can talk to people who have been to china.

Now if someone told me that China was a magical land with unicorns and dragons I'd be a bit more skeptical about it's existance.

There are photographs of China and its inhabitants. I have met Chinese people who have been there. I have touched the things that were made there. I have tasted food that was manufactured there.

This is all tangible, empirical proof that China exists.

Now... god.... a book that was written a few thousand years ago by superstitious men who thought they lived to be 800 years old and that a man rose from the dead.

Dummy! I can get on a plane and see if it goes to China; that is called getting the evidence. Where is the evidence for the " magic man "? Real bad analogy. Is this the mean of god believer intellect? You people are in real trouble if it is.

How do you know I've never been to China?

I see your point. But China is there. It's on maps, I have friends from there, we see pictures, I can buy a plane ticket there and see for myself. God is not on a map, I can't buy a plane ticket to see him, and no one has taken a picture. There's plenty of evidence for China, and none for god.

I love trick questions! No matter what we atheists say at this point you can turn it on them, and that's what you want. So let me answer your question by posing this quandary. Prove to me, using the scientific method, the existence or non-existence of China.

Because there's actual evidence that China exists.

Come on, you can do better than that. Do you really believe the evidence for China is that weak?

Or are you just so clueless as to not understand what "evidence" means?
