If he wants to go to the movies, chaperoned with you or another parent, I do not see much harm in that. He just wants to be a little grown up and do something a grownup would do. But he should definitely be chaperoned, he is way too young to be dating "alone". How about getting a whole group of his friends and a few other girls their age and taking them bowling?

aww that's cute, lol. I would say no if he wanted to go somewhere with her by himself, but if he really wants to ask her out then let him, but have her come over the the house and make sure you supervise. But don't stand right over them, be in another room but close enough to hear things going on. Or even better all of you could go to a movie or something maybe to a fair or carnival coming up. And if her parents are going to be home then maybe he can stay over there for a few hours. (most likely her parents (especially dad) will watch more closely than you)

Nope--a 10 year old boy is way to young to date. My 14 yr old does not even ask girls out. Maybe your son can have female friends over to play video games or hang out or watch movies at your house, but to actually go out...NO!

When i was in 4th grade it was common that me and my friends would have elementry school boyfriends. It wasnt' anything really, acutally we'd hardly talk to the boys, the only time we really saw them was on the playground. It was all innocent. I think mostly it was to sound 'cool' on the playground. I think it would be okay like if you let him have her over, with maybe a group of other friends.

Well, its a little young. My son did have a girlfriend at 11, but it was only because i would let her hang out here at my home under close supervision.

thats a tough one my nephew is ten and talks about girlfriends all the time. i guess it would be ok if it was just like a friend thing like hanging out or going out to eat somewhere.

i think 10 is really young, if you allow it (imo) keep a close eye on things. kids today seem to want to take that big leap into adulthood really fast
