Sounds like you are no longer little, so you and your mom should find something else to connect over...although I could appreciate her wanting to have your hair long so she could fix it into cute hairstyles.

What you are doing donating is wonderful. You should maybe remind your mom that getting your locks lopped off not only helps you look cute, but also could help someone with cancer feel beautiful after losing their hair.

From your post, I can tell it does not matter how short you cut your hair, you are a kind and giving person who has beauty from the inside out--and that is ALWAYS attractive. Maybe you should help your mom to make a donation so she can see how great it feels to give beauty to another.

First off let me commend you for donating your hair. I think it's speaks volumes about your character. I think, if it means a lot to you to donate your hair, then you should. There's nothing wrong with that. Yes, long hair is beautiful as is short hair. You're lucky as a lot of us to grow hair. Just think there are sick girls who lose their hair & wonderful, generous people LIKE YOU donate theirs so those less fortunate girls can have beautiful hair too. Imagine how good those little girls feel when they receive hair? Some of those girls can't afford to purchase wigs, so they rely on donations. I don't want to cause a rift between you and your mother, but I'm in agreement with you. Just tell your mother how good it makes you feel when you donate your hair, then maybe she'll agree with you. I've been thinking of donating my hair and my daughter's long blonde hair as well. I always want to donate, I try to donate my blood every 8 weeks and I've told my family I want to be an organ donor. I'm very proud of you & think you're a very special person. Keep up your good works, you'll be greatly rewarded. Blessing to you. By the way, neither your nor your mother are wrong. You both, just have differing opinions and that's ok. You both should respect each others opinion whether or not you two agree.

I think it's amazing that you're donating your hair to give to someone else. You should definitely wait awhile and then donate. (Besides, with ultra long hair - in society today - people tend to not take you very seriously.
I think, that if you've had the same hair since you were nine, it's time for a change. Go all out and do something different. Wait a few months, donate it, and then get a style that's fresh and new. It sounds like at the moment your hair is just long; maybe you should get layers, or bangs, or highlights.
Go ahead, do something different. Variety is the spice of life. Also, getting a new hairstyle you've never had before shows people you're not afraid to try something unique.

Well if you feel really strongly about donating your hair, you should go with your gut and grow it out, but you should probably ask your mom why you shouldnt donate and if the reason makes sense to you then dont! If you dont really care about what the length of your hair is then i would dontate it and stick with a cute shorter cut, that way you can donate more.

I think that if you want to grow your hair a bit and donate it, then that's what you should do. I'm wondering why your mom is so hung up on you having long hair! It's not her hair.

That's really a really great thing to donate your hair for:) So I think you should do it if you want. You seem very giving and don't let your mom get in the way of that:) Good luck:)

I personally don't really like super long hair, so I think that you should cut it! I mean, it's hair, it'll always grow back, so it's not permanent! And super short hair is in again! so I bet that it'll look fine, and maybe get it layered a little bit, to give it some pretty volume! Don't worry about it!
Good luck!

Let it grow a little longer, and then donate your hair. It doesn't matter what your mom saids in this case, if it means a lot to you, then do it.

I think you are right--- if you are truly comfortable with having short hair. If you think you may not like it, wait till it grows a little more!

In the meantime, try to explain to your mom that what you are doing is a good thing and that you will be helping others! Hopefully, she will see things from your point of view as well :)

If you were my daughter, I would be proud of you!
