I have always been extremely afraid of death. I don't know why and I don't know how to get past this fear. I mean everyone dies eventally so I should really try not to be afraid of it right? When I start thinking of what will happen to me once I die, I get shortness of breath and my heart rate picks up. I think I have panic attacks when I think about it. Any advice on how to feel better about death?

I think everyone fears the unknown.
But as far as dieing, I do not fear that.
I can get myself in a panic too, if I think about how I could die.
So I just taught myself not to worry about how I will die.

Personally I worry moe about other people dying than I do myself. When I was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes, I was terrified of death because you hear DIE-abetes, and it is scary. I was only 14, a sophmore in high school, and I thought my life was seriously over. I have grown a lot in my faith since then, and I think people need to trust what God has planned for us in the end, and accept that we aren't going to be here forever. It is okay to be a little afraid of feath, we're not invincible.

I believe in God and that I'll go to Heaven when I die, so death doesn't scare me. All my friends who are Christians are also not afraid of death.
Ur fear probably comes from not knowing what happens after death (that's what my nonChristian friends usually say).
I hope u get over ur fear... remind urself that fear doesn't help and it doesn't ever change anything.
And try believing in God. That would be the best thing actually.

Yeah, me too.

There is only one way around it: Don't die.

Just because everyone else has died so far doesn't mean that you have to.

Personally, I refuse to accept technical problems as final.

Here are some resources to overcome it.

www.mindtransfer.com - Brain transplantation
http://www.cryonics.org/ - Brain freezing

It's not happening right now, but if you are young, you might live to see it.

No disrespect to the metaphysical aspects of religion. But despite all our technology, we have no clue what happens "after" death. So why trust a source that is 2000+ years old when people had no idea about anything.
I wouldn't.

I'm not afraid of it anymore. It's a comfort to me to know I won't have to endure life on this planet forever. What ever happens when we die is going to happen. I donate to a charity each month in the hopes of a good fate when I die. Maybe you need to get out of your head and if this cripples your life talk to a pastor or get councelling.
Hope this helps.

I am not afraid to die. That is because i kind of now how it feels to die, sometimes i can not breath and then i feel the power floathing out of my body. It feels like pure freedom. Think of that, that dieing is pure freedom

For me, death is the beginning of a new life waiting. My other self (the positive one) waiting in the wings for me to expire, will experience the new life with or without the knowledge I now have within me.

i have too.
i cry at night when i think about it and what i will miss when i leave the earth, and how i will not be able to see anyone ever again.

i dont know how to help you, because i cant stop it either, i just think about it, and when i die, i think about who i am leaving behind, and who dies before me, like if my parents die and my brothers, and im left all alone, or if i die and i leave them. i cry. i dont want them to leave and i dont want to either, just think about how long life is, and love while you can, please. you never know whats around the corner so live life with smiles and love because at night when you crash on your bed and cry and think about death, at least people know you as the person who loves life and doesnt do that, but thats just me.

i hope this helps, best of luck.

have a wonderful life, much love.

Yeah I do that too. But I think that I wouldn't mind when I get old in age.

What were you dreaming about last night, can you even remember, do you even care? What are you doing right now? And which one is more important? Now or past....
