How do you know if a cat is pregnant? I think my cat is but I don't know for sure

An enlarged belly tends to be a giveaway especially if it happens quickly but if she's only got one or two kittens you may not notice that at all. Also a distended abdomen can have a few other causes like constipation or a particularly nasty and deadly disease called FIP (feline infectious peritonitis). Her teats will become enlarged later in the pregnancy.

If you want to be completely sure, take her to the vet and get them to either xray her or do an ultrasound, though these can both be expensive. Another thing is a vet may be able to feel kittens by abdominal palpation if she is advanced in her pregnancy.

Take her to the vet, otherwise, just wait a while and you will see her belly start to grow.
