I say keep the COT in the top series. They need to take all these cars of yesterday or whatever you want to call them, and give them to the busch series teems to driver, otherwise they are just wasted cars.
The COT is designed to be safer and provide us with better racing with side by side and multigroove options as well. I say keep the busch series cars the same because not all of them have the skills yet to do the side by side stuff, however they do it from time to time.
When it comes right down too it, the COT is said to be "cheaper" and the teams are finding themselves spending a ton of money on them. I guess in a few years racing will be cheaper... So to put the COTs in the busch would really put a huge dent in the pocket books. I would say in a few years busch series will have COTs as well.
Interesting question, I wonder why this has not been addressed yet...

I agree with William 100%. A new cup car that had the safety advancements of the COT but the body and styling of the current car. Nascar has been talking to the car manufacturers about running a completely different car for the Busch series. Cars like the Mustang, Camaro, etc. They would also use crate engines (basically an engine in a box and are all exactly the same.) They want to give the Busch series it's own identity and it won't be with the COT. I think changes are coming, but how long? Who knows.

I'd rather see the COT used in the Busch series and a car with the safety advances of the COT but the appearance of a more traditional stock car used in the Cup series.
I like the fact that the COT is bigger, that it has a lot of safety features built in, and that the car is symmetrical, but I can't stand the splitter or the wing. I'd rather see a blade spoiler and a front facia any day.
The wing just has a boy-racer look I can't stand. Now, if the whole car looked more like the Aussie V8 Supercar series cars, I think I could live with a wing and splitter.

I think it would be interesting if they left the Busch series with the old-style cars, and the COT in Cup.
Would it cut down on the number of "Buschwhackers" because they couldn't translate as much from Busch to Cup?
Would it give more room for development drivers and development teams, since the "big" teams would likely want to focus more heavily on the Cup, making room in Busch for smaller, newer drivers / owners / teams to break into the sport?
I'd like to see them try it for a season (maybe 2008) and see how it goes.

NO, I think nascar should keep the Busch and nextel seperated I hate the fact now that nextel drivers can race in as many busch races as there is. there should be a limit so busch drivers have a chance to win the championship. by keeping busch cars the same you may not see them (nextel drivers) running in as many races because there would not be an advantage to it to race in the nextel cup the next day since they are different cars with different set ups, if both leagues are kept the same. we are just watching two identical races each week on the same track, one just a little shorter. come on are you guys getting tired of watching harvick and edwards taking away the spotlight for young and coming up drivers, and sponsors. I know I am

Based upon the fact that the COT was implemented mainly to be safer, I can't see how NASCAR can justify NOT using it in the Busch Series. At least they should make a variant of it. For everything that they say it's supposed to bring to the Cup races, I can't see why they wouldn't want it in the Busch races.

Yes,because Nextel cup drivers race in the NASCAR Busch series. In 2008 COT car will race in full time in cup so Busch drivers that are going to cup can use it as a test race.

Sure, why not? I don't even know what the "Car of Tomorrow" is, but the Nascar version would look exactly like all other Nascar cars with "Car of Tomorrow" painted on it.
