There are no bubbles in champagne if it's not open. Once opened, the carbonated gas starts to expand until it has fully equalized with the ambient pressure outside the bottle. This process can yield millions of bubbles over a few hours until the champagne goes flat. Depending on the type, size, and fermentation of the champagne, a close estimate of exactly how many bubbles is not possible. Even variables such as temperature, barometric pressure, and altitude can make quite amount of difference in bubble count.
Scientific studies of a 750ml bottle of champagne under laboratory conditions yielded a bubble count of 49 million.
Interesting question.

the number of bubbles per bottle of champagne = the number of fantastic moments you have while drinking said champagne multiplied by the number of strawberries you consume (while drinking said champagne of course) and then divided by 9.63528. Generally that averages out to about 5,874,734,890,999.74893658403

Don't know. Got a case or so we could use for counting purposes? I'd be willing to do a multi-bottle comparison count.
