Confused! Believing in man's science does not automatically mean that you can not also believe in God. I must ask...when you were Christian...did you simply follow a specific religious practice or did you actually have a personal relationship with God? I think I already know the answer...and perhaps so do you but it is something that you need to ask yourself.
An afterlife without God would not make sense. At least not as far as existing again. It is I suppose possible scientifically that the electrical energy that makes up the workings of your brain could conceivably live on for a time without a live body...in fact I think that science shows that does occur. However, a few moments or even hours of extended brain activity hardly qualifies as an "afterlife" At least not in my book.
It is not hard to believe that the science of man would make more sense to you than does a complicated and sometimes questionable faith in an unseen and unknown entity would. I myself was in that same situation for a time.
However, once I acknowledged that God and science were not exclusive of one another I was able to answer the call that God had put in my heart. Today, there is no more doubt. I have a personal and ongoing relationship with my Creator...and He is far more than the Christian Bible or any other religious book says He is. He is very much alive and believe it or not, He does care about us (strange as that might seem).
Think about it. God didn't create religions...man did. Please just allow yourself to reach out to Him. I can guarantee that you will not regret it.

It appears you had a Godly wake up call. Thank God you are well. Go to a private place and think of all the blessings you have. Let's start with your health. Your heart, it doesn't run on batteries, gasoline or anything, it just beats continuously. If you live to 83, God has given you 3 billion heartbeats. It is amazing how the human body runs. That brings us to the next question, how did we get here? What I love about evolution is the scientists are always fine tuning their theories. The bible doesn't. It is what it is! Right now, think of all th blessings you have, try to count them, don't be a ingrate. Then after you have counted them all, ask who gave them all to you? Be well!

Jewish faith believes in God, thats what their whole faith is based on one true God the only living God,
they also believe in the Messiah but they are still waiting for him to come they believe Jesus was just a prophet of God.
what are you sorry to say mixed up. seek God and he will reveal himself to you, if you had a afterlife experience he is already trying too.

There are many Christians who believe in evolution, evolution does not preclude a Creator. It does not address the origin of life.

It makes you a little confused, apparently. Does your concept of the afterlife require a god or deity? If not, live with it, let other people wrestle with their own beliefs.
