I would give the edge to "Smokin Joe" as no other heavyweight that I could think of had more "heart". I would like to hear other opinions from the fans.

Frazier would have exposed Tyson faster than Holyfield did. Mike was a bully, and bully's are only dangerous to people who fear them. Joe Frazier didn't know the meaning of the word, and if Buster Douglas could beat Mike or a guy like Kevin McBride could make Mike quit on his stool, Frazier would have exposed Mike's true nature a lot quicker than the stiffs Mike built his rep on.

Joe was the real thing, not a media creation, Frazier would have KOed Mike Tyson within 6 rounds, two rounds quicker than Holyfield did.

Hmmm. Great question.

Tyson seemed to psych out many of his opponents right from the opening bell. He obviously wouldn't be able to do that with Frazier, who would be right in front of him all night long.

The only thing that might prevent me from picking Frazier is that I have the memory of the way George Foreman pushed him around. Could Tyson do that? He wasn't as tall, but he was strong and wide.

I would give Tyson a puncher's chance, but Frazier probably gets through Tyson's underdeveloped defensive abilities and wins.

i dont think the mike tyson of age 22 was the same tyson that lost to douglas and holyfield.i do not think frazier would have survived a young tyson, maybe an older more party worn tyson, but not the vicious tyson that clean out the heavyweight division in his early twenties.he was an awesome unstoppable fighter with an incrediable determination to destroy.the drugs booze and women at some point brought him down to the beatable level.

Smokin Joe is a much better fighter, and had the mentality and heart of a true champion, but styles make fights and Foreman destroyed Fraizer with uppercuts, Tyson would do the same. Too powerful!

This is a tough one to say. Tyson was a beast in his prime, however Frazier era had a way superior heavyweight division. If Tyson was with Cus D'Amato, I'd have to go with Tyson, otherwise Frazier.

Would have to go with Tyson: reason ?
Smokin Joe would take four punches
to deliver one, can't do that with a man
like Tyson in front of You. Tyson in two

Tyson. In his prime Tyson was so fearless that he went in the ring believing he could do anything and beat anybody with no doubt in his mind. But neither would have beaten Rocky Marciano!

Yeah, but no other pro hit like a truck like Tyson did at 22.

Tyson beats him inside of two rounds.
