You have to burn fat first through cardio exercise then do crunches. There are several different types of crunches that you can do to target the different abdominal muscles (upper abs, lower abs, obliques). I suggest getting a book or finding a certified personal trainer to teach the correct way to work your abs so that you don't injure your back.

It is called the butterfly ... I think the Navy Seals developed it and it is not easy to do at first but works the very best - especially for those who may have had back injuries.

You lay flat on your back - then hands behind the head and interlock the fingers - pull your elbows forward ... and lift up the back slightly off the floor - head around 4 or 5 inches or so - just off the floor ...

hard part next - lift your feet with a little bend to the knees - about 6 inches or so off the floor ... then you kind of like act like you are peddling a bicycle - KIND OF ...

See - the exercise will build up coordinance as well and dexterity ...

You bring up your left knee and you swing your right elbow over to meet it - then you quickly bring up your RIGHT KNEE and swing your LEFT ELBOW OVER TO MEET IT ...and so on-

you only have to do 10 - 4 count repititions and that is it - do it EVERY OTHER DAY ... NOT EVERY DAY.

It works every muscle in your body ... the 4 count is done by your left knee meeting with your right elbow 2 times and your right knee meeting your left elbow 2 times - ... so you count like 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 2 - 1, 2, 3, 3 - 1, 2, 3, 4 - 1, 2, 3, 5 ... all the way up to 10 ... then you stop

It may take you a while to do your first set of these ... may take you a while to get your first 4 count out of 10 and you may never make the 10 count completely in your first session - don't fret ... you will probably look like a fish out of water flopping around on the ground UNTIL YOU GET THE RYTHM AND THE COORDINATION DOWN PACT ...

Just don't give up and you will have six pack abs in little time and you will feel stronger than you ever did before with more energy then ever ... especially if you do a great colon cleanse along with it ...

peace;
