This may sound like a complete and total joke and I actually kept this information to myself until recently, but I assure you it's no joke. Talking with a friend, we both realized that urine shared the same smell as Golden Crisp or Honey Smacks cereal. This doesn't happen with any other cereals or food (or if it does, the smell just isn't as potent). So what is it about that cereal that drastically alters the smell of urine to the point where one must make a concerted effort NOT to smell it?

Does Golden Crisp has a sulfur compound called mercaptan? When your digestive tract breaks down this substance, by-products are released that cause the funny scent. The process is so quick that your urine can develop the distinctive smell within 15 to 30 minutes of eating .

I believe it was developed for people that drink their urine.

They seriously drink their own urine or that of others for reasons I really did not have the stomach to research - but;

It is for the urine drinker on the go that does not have time to get up and make a complete breakfast ...

They eat their Golden Crisp in the evening and do their thing and put it in the frige till morning - and ...

It provides them all the nutrients they think they need to get through the rushed day - with the actual odor's of a well balanced breakfast.

This is a high technology food with a lot of hours pissed away in the development - but; it paid off.

Sorry - can I say pissed??? If not - I apologize - facts is facts ... maybe I should have said they put everything they got into it???
