You can always bring a long book that looks really interesting. Maybe a lot of magazines. I'm not sure if airlines are allowing mp3 players or cd players on the plane now (I haven't traveled by plane since last August) but if they do you can bring that. Some people like to color in coloring book (I do) and that keeps people occupied for a while. And if worst comes to worse you can always sleep.

I answered two questions very similar to this.
This was my answer to those questions about a 14 hour flight & 16 hour flight:
"Funny you ask, in less than a month I'll be on a 16 hour flight. Many of the suggestions of books and magazines are great but only if you're into that sort of thing. --It still tends to get boring.
Best bet is to bring plenty of your favorite snacks, portable music player, and games.
I also always count on trying to get as much sleep as possible on long flights. Remember to bring ear plugs, eye cover/night shades, and a jacket (sometimes planes can get pretty chilly!). You also might want to bring slippers or 'spa socks' to change into while you relax in your seat.
One more thing, be sure to get up and walk around every now and then on your flight--keep your circulation flowing!"

Good luck & have a safe flight!

if the flight is over 8 or so hours, take a benadryl and sleep. It helps to sleep to adjust to the time difference. Also, if you take a really long trip, watch your salt and alcohol intake because you usually swell up from the trip (take your shoes off and put your wedding band on a loose finger).

Other than that, a good novel helps to induce the benadryl sleep, earplugs and eye cover, and a neck pillow will serve you well. If you are vain like I am...take a toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, and deodorant.

I regularly fly twelve or more hours. I try to read a book until I fall asleep and then try to sleep as much as possible. This passes the time and it is easier to adjust to the time difference if I am rested.

Books, music, puzzle books, playstation psp (or other handheld game system), portable dvd player.

Those always work for me and are a staple of my traveling backpack.....

Have a great trip!

I don't know if you are male, female, old, young..

I suggest you find the simplest kind of reading material. A Harloquin Romance...
Readers Digest.
Whatever your age level or sex is...your intrest.
