It's mating season..so it is natural for all male animals to become more aggressive or protective of it's mate or territory.

You think you have problems! I had a Roman gander until a fox got him. The postman wouldn't get out of his van. He took chunks out of my legs, even my dogs wouldn't go near him.

Anyway, in answer to your question, as many othes have said, get him a female or two if he hasn't already got some. Doesn't have to be the same breed, farm yard ducks or Aylesburys will do, and yes it's that time of year when the hormones start flowing, so for the moment I'm afraid you will just have to put up with his behaviour.

By the way, duck pecks haven't got a touch on a goose. So just tell the men that they are lucky!

If you get your duck a female companion, he should settle down. He's just doing what comes naturally to a mature male duck. Sorry. Other than that, you can reset his biological clock by locking him up several hours before sunset at night, and then not letting him out again until a couple hours after sunrise. Make sure you lock him up in a completely dark location. The hours of daylight are what tell him it's time to find a mate, and if you change his hours of daylight, you'll reset his clock.

I should think he is in the mating season and will settle down again once its over. Its a his protective nature of his area coming out.

Failing that, orange sauce goes nice with duck

Male ducks, male anything, can be territorial and aggressive. Its the natural state of anything containing testosterone.
