when asked about their opinion as regards priests who do things not really christian (paedophilia and illicit sexual relationships) they say priests are just people?
Why are there just people for some things and god´s representatives for some others?

I am a Christian, and that is not true of me. In fact, I've never used holy water or anything? Why?

Because that is the Roman Catholic church, which is not Christian.

I've never understood the origin of holy water. It's never mentioned in the Bible that I know of.

And if holy water is so great, then why doesn't a priest just bless the entire ocean and clouds in the sky? That way everyone would have holy water all the time.

Before the LORD was crucified, buried and risen he commissioned the Apostles to continue His message and His work. They were given the Holy Spirit which enabled them with strength, courage, wisdom, healing powers among other gifts. They lived life the way that Jesus had instructed, they never changed or altered His message in any way. They didn't have sexual relationships that would be considered sinful to God. They chose freely to either marry or not, and gave the same instructions to the followers. Yes, they did miraculous things after Christ left them, but I do not believe that the Catholic priest is in any way to be compared to the Apostles and no I don't think that priest make water Holy. Jesus' body submerged in the baptism water gave healing power to all that touched it. But the water was Holy because Jesus' complete submission to the will of His Father made Him Holy and therefore making even what His body touched holy as well. I do not believe that a Catholic priest with all his sun garb can possibly be compared to the Truth, Light and the Way and therefore have no authority to make anything Holy.

God Bless You

Holy Water is a ritual tool, and like any ritual tool, serves the purpose of helping mind overcome matter. This is true of any ritual or magical tool of any religion or social structure.

Ritual tools, be it holy water, a crucifix or an athame (the ritual dagger used by Wiccans and other practicioners) simply help focus the mind on the task at hand. When thusly focused, the mind is truely a powerful thing.

The fact is that if you believe that the water is holy, it is holy. If you believe that the athame, is powerful, then it is powerful. That's the importance of fait and religion.

Religion and faith are very important and powerful tools, as have been proven in studies (such as those involving the healing power of prayer, for instance). And that's regardless of the religion.

I feel the Real Presence is predominant why I love the Catholic Church. There is not anything I dislike primarily approximately the Catholic Church. I do dislike how a few humans even Catholics on the whole time reward the lessons of the Catholic Church. I heard a former Baptist minister state that regardless of the shortcomings and regularly terrible screw ups of the Popes ago the Rock has regularly remained. I determined what I on the whole heard from schoolmates who had been Catholic ago had been simplications in their information of Catholic instructing. Mary used to be anything in the beginning I wasn't so definite approximately however have emerge as increasingly conscious of her value as a well pal. Actually we feel every person in Heaven is a saint and the ones humans can aid us by means of their prayers on our lifestyles travel. If you believe anybody is in Heaven there's no cause you are not able to requested them to hope for you. I have had a few reviews ago four of five years that experience made me conscious of a pal I have in Heaven.

Priest have the authority to bless water and what ever else. It has been handed to them bu the Pope. Peter the first Pope handed everything down to his successors. Just as Jesus handed over secession to Peter, when Jesus placed His church into Peter's hands. As for pedophilia, it is in every walk of life , just not the Catholic Church. Those so called homosexual priests that committed these acts have been taken care of. Also , these so called men of God infiltrated the Catholic Church to spread their sickness. Not all priests are pedophiles, just like not all school teachers, or coaches, or baby sitters, or next door neighbors, or fathers, or mothers or uncles, or grandfathers, police officers, firemen, FBI agents, homeland security, protestant ministers Jehovah witness pastors, etc are pedophiles.

Because they are just people...they are people with the authority given to them by God to be able to bless things.

Just like the President is just a person but has the authority given to him by the voting public, to do certain things.

Or in the military, a high ranking officer is just a person, but has the authority to make decisions.

It's no different than their "faith" in the Bible. They pick and choose what is true and what isn't. Otherwise, it would all crash down before them, and then they would have to actually start thinking for themselves.

That is unbelievable concept to me too. It does not bother me, but I cannot believe how many people 'endorse' this holy water subject.

I think that everyone should be able to bless their own water. : )
