What do you think when clients are nervous about certain things, like maybe female nipple piercings? I'm probably being paranoid, but I was thinking about getting a tattoo on my armpits and kind of nervous about my guy working there! It would be my 4th tattoo.

It's pretty normal for clients to be nervous. Part of what makes a good piercer (or tattoo artist) is being able to help them through the process in a positive manner and setting them at ease. A lot of people want piercings, but are worried about the process (usually the pain, which is why there are so many people asking about it here).

What part of the tattoo are you nervous about? I'm sure he's tattooed at least a few before you, so don't think it's a strange request. Another part of being a good tattoo/piercing artist is being comfortable with the human body, in all it's shapes and sizes. The only time I ever feel uncomfortable with a part of anyone's body is when I have to tell them to take a shower and come back (it does happen, some people are just nasty!)

Just tell your artist that you're feeling a little uncomfortable, I'm sure he will be able to put you at ease.

i am not a piercer or tattooist, but i have a part of my body pierced that many would think makes a piercer uncomfortable, but to be honest, it is over so fast that there really is not time to dwell on being uncomfortable. he was professional about it and so was I. It is their living so everyone has some drawback to their job. i thought of it like i was going to the doctor! Anyway, i have heard many say tattooing the feet is terrible.

I actually asked my tattoo artist/piercer this same question. Mind you, i was in getting a VCH piercing done(vertical clitoral hood). He has been in this town for many years, he says the only awkward thing is when he has seen someone grow up, then they get something like that done. He is also one of my fathers closest friends, so it was a bit weird, but oh well, at least i knew it was going to be done properly.

my tattoo artist won't tattoo penises. he has had quite a few requests and that is just something he won't do. i have seen quite a few girls with armpit tattoos so it doesn't seem like something that a lot of artists wouldn't do and i don't see why they wouldn't do one. do be advised that the armpit is an extremely painful place to get tattooed.

Think of it this way: they see tons of nipples, genitals, and, I'm sure, armpits, every day. It's no different that going to the doctor.

I can only tell you how I feel.........it doesn't bother me at all where the tat is.........concentration on the tat is what it's all about.
So many guys I know want me to teach them how to tat 'cause
I get to see girls private areas...............and I tell them, if that's what you're interested in, forget it, cause you will never be good at your job.
