5Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that (A)every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6The LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.
7The LORD said, "I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, from man to animals to creeping things and to birds of the sky; for I am sorry that I have made them."

Judges 1:19 And the LORD was with Judah; and he drave out [the inhabitants of] the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron.
The omnipotent God, creator of everything in the universe can not deal with chariots made of iron!
ROTFLMAO

sure, there is tons of good sage advice and down home folk wisdom in the bible. after all, it was written by men who had real world problems. in fact, one can easily see the shifting morals and ethical codes of the hebrews evolving as one moves through the time periods of the bible. as you know, the god of the old testament is quite a bit different than the god of the new testament and this is reflected in the stories and narratives attributed to the various characters throughout both. all in all, i would rate the bible pretty highly as a source of information on how to deal with demons, torture and kill adversaries, methods of execution for sinners, sanitation and cleanliness advice, social control methods for reproduction, marriage, loyalty and so forth...not bad really...but the word of god?...i think not.

Almost all of Revelations. I just love the story and the Apocalyptic feel of it even if it is just a myth. Genesis is pretty good too. I can't just say a verse because it all connects like a puzzle.

That's my favorite too. Where god regretted having created humans?
And was considering destroying not only humans but animals too? Including birds and "creeping things"?
Funny thing, he didn't threaten the sea creatures, presumably cause he knew he couldn't drown them.

2Kings (KJV) 18:27 But Rabshakeh said unto them, Hath my master sent me to thy master, and to thee, to speak these words? hath he not sent me to the men which sit on the wall, that they may eat their own dung, and drink their own piss with you?
