It's quite amusing... Especially when they attack my beliefs while clearly going against their own in order to do so..

I started out being called the worst troll ever in here I think now, I'm not such a bad troll I think because now when I get attacked the people who used to hate me come to my defense. I think part of that is eventually people see that what you are saying you really believe and if it is clear that you really are sincere with what your saying then you are afforded alot more leeway then a newer person would give you maybe. I now find that when I am attacked it is done almost lovingly and I try to do the same.

I don't think I've been 'attacked' openly here, but it did amuse me one time when someone asked an obviously 'jokey' question, and when I answered in a ( hopefully ) humorous vein, they sent me a very vitriolic and definitely attacking e-mail.
We should never underestimate the difference in communicating in writing this way, without any of the usual body-language and voice-tone signals to moderate how our words may be perceived.
Either which way ad hominem attacks are not useful contributions to this medium, in my opinion.

I always get a good chuckle out of it. I've never seen an intelligent attack that I couldn't counter with equal or greater intelligence. Besides, everything here is only a collection of words, and there's an old saying about "sticks and stones"...

Mostly it's just funny, cuz I rarely get attacked personally. I get the occasional po'd fundy email telling me I'll burn. No biggie. If this place or the people here get to me, I'll know it's time for a break. I take it all with a big spoon of salt.

I find it amusing. I've found myself upset one or twice on here in the last 6 months or so. Both times it was when someone said that the people of New Orleans who suffered through Hurricane Katrina deserved what happened because they "are sinners".
Those two times are the only times I felt like strangling the person that said it.

I get attacked equally by believers and non-believers. Usually an atheist writes because he is upset he did not get best answer, even when he did not deserve best answer.
Christians write me to tell me how stupid I am, even though, they know nothing about me, nothing about my college degree, etc.
Oh well. I laugh at it because I think it's hilarious. It's especially funny when the letter is full of spelling and grammar mistakes. LOL!

I never get so upset that I'd report some one, only if it affects a child's well being or safety. It's good to see people let it all out! Have a good day.

anyone that gets attacked..for the most part
should have already weighed the possibility they may envoke
retribution..over their question..let's face it...
there are people out there that want that dynamic ..and thrive on it...and then there are people you'd like to smack right in the chops..too bad there isn't a emoticon that makes that point.

I am offended only when the attack is phrased as an insult to my intelligence or my self respect. If someone disgrees with me, I am more than willing to listen to their side if they are willing to show respect to my view as well.
