I was trying to free up my hard drive and I accidentally deleted Office 2000 (this includes word, excel, powerpoint, etc.)
And now I have to use Microsoft Works which I really don't like
Is there any way I can get it back?
I've tried System Restore but it doesn't seem to work.
Is there any sites where I can get it for free? How about Office 2003 or 2007?
Can anyone give me some advice on this?

If you have a license for Office 2000 Premium (i.e. you paid for it at one time or it came with your computer) you can call Microsoft Product Support and see if they can help you. If not, you will need to buy a copy of a newer version of Office. Don't use pirated copies of the software.

Microsoft Office is definitely not free.

If your version of Office was bundled with the PC at time of purchase, you would contact the seller and ask permission to redownload.

If you purchased the program and have the CD, simply reinstall it.

If you borrowed the CD from a friend, you will have to purchase your own. When you activate software, the product key and information about your computer are mixed together -- from this mixture is selected what is called the "installation ID." This will not match any other computer. If you are able to reinstall, you will be asked to purchase a license in 30 days or it will be disabled - in part or all.

Only other option is open office - a free software program which is supposed to be compatible with Office.

Open Office is a free Offfice Suite which has proven to be an alternatvie to Microsoft Office except for one thing that I mentioned, it's FREE. There are many other sites dedicated to Open Office and even those that offer Open Office Tutorials.
OpenOffice.org is a collection of different applications that work together closely to provide the features expected from a modern office suite. Many of the components are designed to mirror those available in Microsoft Office. The components available include:
Writer — a word processor similar in look and feel to Microsoft Word and offering a comparable range of functions and tools. It also includes the ability to export Portable Document Format (PDF) files with no additional software, and can also function as a WYSIWYG editor for creating and editing web pages. One important difference between Writer and Microsoft Word is that in Writer, many functions and number formats from Calc (below) are available in Writer's tables. Another difference is that in Writer, automatic save is off by default.
Calc — a spreadsheet similar to Microsoft Excel with a roughly equivalent range of features. Calc provides a number of features not present in Excel, including a system which automatically defines series for graphing, based on the layout of the user's data. Calc is also capable of writing spreadsheets directly as a PDF file.

I think you have problems but doubt seriously it has anything to do with Office 2000. A vulnerability is quite different than having a virus. The reason your pc is slow booting is because Vista is Vista and you probably have the minimum required resources, and you're probably loading up way too much stuff that's not needed. I'd suggest professional help.

see if your computer has the program in its "Application Recovery" feature
it may be labeled differently on your system
try this// go to start // all programs// pc help & tools // this is where you should find "application recovery" // then launch it and check the list
if you cant find "application recovery" this way// do this
go to start // search // and in the window that comes up find the little arrow pointing to the words "all files and folders" click it and type in "application recovery" if your system has such a thing this should direct you there. then look for the application you want to try and recover,to see if it is there// if it came with your computer it should be there

Use your installation CD and reinstall it! Assuming it's a legal copy, you will have a CD...even if it came preinstalled on your computer. Lost your CD?...call Microsoft.

Worst case scenario..download OpenOffice...it's free http://www.openoffice.org

Well did you empty the recycle bin? If not it might still be there if you are lucky.
