Online Yahoo! Groups, for "specific" mental illnesses (ADD, ADHD, OCD, Bi-Polar Disorder, Depression, Cutting, Suicidal Orientation, Body Dysmorphic Disorder, etc, etc); sometimes have "psychiatrists" LURKING on their site... so, if you "post" SOMETHING SPECIFIC... you can GET SPECIFIC ANSWERS... (through "private" e-mail)... though, THEY WON'T "out" themselves... within the group!!!

other than that, if you "go to a COUNTY RUN PUBLIC HEALTH CLINIC"... there might "be someone there"... that you "can talk to"... based on a "sliding scale"... but... SORRY... "nobody" does it FOR FREE!!!

then, there's always: healthyplace.com or webmd.com

where you can post "specific questions"... and "get specific answers"...

Good Luck :)

LOL - I know, I checked out yahoo chat last week just to see if it was still the same as it was 10 years ago and it was all porn-crazed nut cases!! Can't help with new chat rooms though, sorry! You can always talk to us, ask us questions and we will keep you entertained for a while!! LOL, good luck to you!

I'm sorry this isn't really an answer to your question but i just wanted to say that I know what you're talking about. I want to go to a pyschiatrist, too, but I'm afraid that I'm just being paranoid or my family will dismiss it as trying to get attention. It'd be great if there was a place like that. Ah, the safety of internet. Ironic.

i've tried to no avail. they all charge. just go see one. no one has to know at all though i don't know why you wouldn't want them to.
EDIT- i don't know what kind of problem you're dealing with but, you could try a hotline of some sort if it's an emergency.
