Sorry to hear your dog may have to be put to sleep. We just had our 110 lb Ridgeback put to sleep. There was a $35 charge for the injection, and a $35 cremation charge. If you want your pets ashes back, than it would have cost us $125 for the cremation.
This was in the Houston area metro area.

It depends on the vet; ask yours. You shouldn't let price get in the way of euthanizing if your dog is in serious, critical pain. Some people think euthanization is undeniably cruel, but NOT doing it is cruel if the dog is suffering.

I have heard that the vets charge by weight for this service. My vet charges nothing. I had to have two dogs euthanized & when I first asked how much I owed her she said nothing. I questioned it and she said that is the least & the last thing she can do for her patients & their family. Her actions just shows how compassionate she truely is!!! Both dogs were at a good weight 65lb & about 80lb. They were both Doberman Pinschers.

It usually goes by the weight of the dog. Call around local vets in your area if you need to compare. I would suggest using the vet your dog is used to. He/she will be more at ease with someone they know.

I'm so sorry you may have to do this. Sending a prayer for you and your dog.

I work for a veterinarian office. We charge $58 to euthanize. There are additional fees if a client wants burial or cremation services.
