I got her from a friend, and I thought that I could trust them but they keep blowing me off, She is a 2 year old siberian husky, and she said that she did the shots themselves, I believe that she was abused by her last owner who I also know, she is so lovable, my vet wants to know so I cant takw her untill she has her registration, and I am getting sick ant tired of waiting, I have no clue what the kennel name is but they are giving away one more husky.

If you have their kennel name and their names you can report them to AKC. Shots are very important I'd talk to your vet about that. Best of luck;^)

Usually a breeder will hand over the dog's registration "papers" when the dog is paid for/picked up. You can contact the AKC (or whichever kennel club) to see if the dog and/or the breeder is registered with them. If not, take in stride as a learning experience.

For next time, I would make sure to have a good in-depth interview with the breeder.
Ask what events they participate in. If the dogs are not in events and are just being used for breeding, find another kennel. In that, if the dogs do not have AT LEAST a championship, they shouldnt be bred.
Ask the breeder if they do heath tests. If they say they do, ask for the scores. A good breeder will show you, no qualms about it. You want scores from any combination of these health agencies: OFA, PennHip &/or CERF(eyes). These tests cannot be done before the age of two, which also means the breeder should not be pairing dogs before then. If they are, they are not responsible about their breedings.
Look for a kennel that breeds at the very most once a year. maybe twice if there are multiple breeds (but not more than 2-3 breeds--no mixes) Also, make sure the same dogs are not being bred over and over. A breeder usually will not repeat a breeding unless it has produced outstanding pups.

Good luck!

If you know her parents registered names you can contact the Kennel Club they are registered with but if the kennel is stalling they probably are not of registered or purebred stock. If you do not know her shot status just have your vet give her the shots she needs. Papers mean little, they do not mean the dog is quality and with the case of many Petstore dogs they do not even mean the dog is purebred. Papers are easy to come by and many Petstores make up their own kennel clubs on a computer so the papers are just as worthless a toilet paper. Unless the breeder is a top reputable breeder, which your breeder does not sound like, you never know if the dog's papers have anything to do with the dog. There have been several AKC breeders who have lost their privileges because the were not using the stud that the papers said, they used a son or brother. Unless the parents are DNA typed you can not be sure. Just spay your new dog and do not worry about the papers, she will be as great a pet with or without them.

There is absolutely no reason not to give you the dog's registration papers once you have purchased her, unless you bought a show-quality dog and your breeder included a clause in the contract that the dog's registration and partial ownership remains with them, in which case they should still give you a copy of her pedigree.

No matter what, ANY breeder should give you a copy of the dog's medical records. It should be on letterhead with the vet's name and address on it so you can call and verify that the dog has been there and had shots.

If I were you, I would return the dog immediately, before you get too attached, and go find a more responsible breeder. You probably bought from a glorified puppy mill who is just in it for a buck. You should report them to the AKC. It won't do much but prevent them from registering any dogs, but at least it's something.

If they will not take the dog back or will not give you all of your money back, you could sue them for fraud and false advertising.

Good luck!

The vet is not talking about a registration, your vet is talking about the proof of shots already given as they cannot take a dog into their place if it might get other dogs sick. Just have the vet give all the shots again if the breeder will not give you the shot paperwork. It is not worth the hassle. Find a low-cost vacination place and go there and make sure you keep all records for your vet and the follow up shots too.

Only the actual breeder of the mother and father dog will be able to provide you with AKC puppy registration paperwork, but just have your dog spayed or neutered and enjoy your pet and please just start the vacinations all over again if you have to. Call the breeder and ask for proof of vacinations........you probably keep asking for registration and they are confused as to what you want. Sometimes it takes awhile for them to receive the litter registration papers from AKC, you did not say how old your dog is. Please enjoy her and take good care of her, she will love you for years and years.

Contact the kennel club. People can't offer a dog as registered then not supply the registration papers. They also can't sell a dog as purebred, if it in fact is not registered. I suspect that they are not even members of the kennel club.. Or the type that got kicked out, so the bad mouth them now.. Happens all the time.. Then they have some fantastic excuse why they don't believe in registering their dogs..

Call the kennel club and find out.. if you paid the price for purebred registered, then you deserve to get your papers.

you could go to jail or have your dog taken away if you get caught without papers. just report them to the animal police and theyll get the papers drawn up or search the old owners for them.

You can't tell if they do not give them to you. If you don't know about the shots, it would be safer to get them NOW.
