Is it immodest to wear pants that say juicy, angel, sweet, etc on the butt?

If you have no rules for modesty, where do you draw the line?

Celtic--funny, but it is not about me. I saw some girl today wearing it. I have also seen it before and have seen the track uniforms with writing there too. When I saw it today I thought of everyone here on YA R&S and decided I would ask you. But even w/o a pic, you told me what you think!

Girls who dress like that in my opinion have no self respect, it looks tacky to me, they remind me of branded cattle, someone else's property

I think that, for us to properly answer that question, you should post a link to a photo of you wearing the shorts in question--because, the fact is, that it depends on the butt from the male perpective!

Addition:

I'm glad you saw behind the sarcasm! I think that it does draw attention to that part of the body--as if the attention doesn't go there at some point anyways (at least in the case of a nice one...lol).

It seems pretty pathetic to me that some girls feel the need to draw that kind of attention, especially the younger girls.

On a funny note, however...

I was in Wal-Mart around Christmas time. I saw a woman (30-ish) wearing pants with a pic of Santa and "Ho, Ho, Ho!" printed on the butt. I couldn't help but think that she was advertising.

I would not choose to do so but I will not dictate to another. I take my personal 'rules' for modesty from a previous Vatican edict:
Standards of Modesty in Dress

Imprimatur dated Sept. 24, 1956

"A dress cannot be called decent which is cut deeper than two fingers breadth under the pit of the throat; which does not cover the arms at least to the elbows; and scarcely reaches a bit beyond the knees. Furthermore, dresses of transparent materials are improper."

The Cardinal Vicar of Pius XII

I would never wear one of those.. I bought a pair ones because we were dancing in the school singing valentines but when I tried it out and decided to go to the park I kept feeling like every one was looking at my butt..... SO obviously I convinced my friends to wear just normal black sweat pants.... Anyway I don't know why I wasted my money because I knew I would not really wear it... it feels embarrassing like your trying to ask people to look at your butt. Tacky too the ones who say princess or something on the back.....

Although it is a thin line between the two, it is more inappropriate and distasteful to plaster such descriptions on the rear. It would be immodest if there were noticable holes in the pants that would reveal skin.

It might be tacky, but I'd hardly call it immodest. I mean, at least it's covering the butt, right? Besides, this is hardly a new phenomenon; it's very common for high school and college uniforms, especially in track and cross-country, to feature lettering on the butt, and has been for years.

Modesty can be assessed by watching to see what reaction people have to what you are wearing. How would you react if you saw a guy wearing something that made a similar statement about a part of his body?

I don't think it's immodest..just causes a bit more attention to be drawn to the butt than necessary. Especially in young girls..a parent shouldn't want to draw peoples attention to their young daughters hiney. Especially with all of the Peds running around.

The point of pants with "Juicy" on the butt of them are to draw attention to your butt. I wear them but I would have it saw something like "sweet" or "cute". Juicy sounds kinda...juicy.

I would say so, but I'm not a woman.
Girls who dress that way, I would consider immodest, but that is just me.

There are no rules, each person decides for themselves what they feel is good or bad, as I have no right to tell her she must live up to my standards any more than she can tell me to like hers

i think of that is trashy and calling interest to your self in a unfavourable way. I additionally do in comparison to how little ladies are commencing to positioned on clothing that calls interest to them. A 6yo should not be wearing sweats with diva or princess or the rest for that count on their butt.
