I don't think there really is an "ultimate goal" to life. Life is what you make it. But I do feel that we have an obligation to try to make the world a better place for future generations.

That depends.
I'm sure different people have different "ultimate goals".
As a Christian, I believe the "ultimate goal" is to live a life that has been pleasing to my Savior, Jesus Christ.

Well, I have to agree with Norman Vincent Peale that it is to shatter the loneliness. However, he believed it was to forge a relationship with God. I say it is to break down the barriers between human beings so that we can trust and be close to one another.
