Misinformed, misconceptions, and old prejudices. I have met many though who changed their minds when they got to know one of us Catholics. Each of us though is different and unique.

If the girl from your school is so formed by her mother to think that you are evil because you are a Catholic ,do you really want to hang around such a bigot? Honey, they are the weird ones. Check out the youth group at a Catholic Church.
There are actually a lot of Non Catholics who are fine and not bigoted people. I sure that you can find some. You may live in a section of the States where there is a strong and long-standing misinformed hatred of Catholics.

The World , the Flesh, and The Devil, those are the big enemies of Christians. Right now, I think the World is greatly responsible for the hatred aimed at Catholics. This is a throw-a-way society we live in and the world has spread that to even humans. If a baby is unwanted--kill it, if an elderly person is inconvenient -- kill him, etc.The Catholic Church stands against this and it has made enemies in the process. The Media, and other clergy members of worldly Churches have brought abunch of accusations against the Church but, do not worry, the Church has been around 2,000 years and it will be here when Jesus comes back because he said so! "The gates of Hell shall not prevail over her" He did not say that they wouldn't try, just that they will fail.

people are clouded by post actions taken by the church dated a long time ago. Things will change i hope. I'm not catholic but i have nothing against the religion. I have many friends that attend catholic church, and i myself have attended one as well. Don't forget that the movies have no other church do base there war movies on but from the actions of a few cleric a long time ago. Movie producers stretch it out more than they should. Cheer up there are people, that love catholics like the brother and sisters we are.

Its because of the lies that have been told thru out history about Catholics. Instead of asking a Catholic their beliefs they make it up and assume they know how Catholics worship and such. They are also jealous that Catholics were/are the very first Christians, that we attend the church Jesus established and placed into Peter's hands, that we have the complete fullness of Christ in our church and His sacraments. Hang in there and know that you are in God's hands and that those who judge you are trying to do God's job.God Bless

I don't like Catholics any more than I like Protestants. But I can say Catholics aren't as pushy (my whole family is Catholic) so they're slightly better.

The Protestants left the Catholic faith because they didn't like Catholic practices. Its like a bunch of children saying "I don't like what that club does so I'm going to go make my own, so nyah nyah". The Catholics are like adults looking at the others and thinking "are you all nuts?".

Protestants don't like Catholics because they're rebelling against the original Christian church.

thats just crazy, christians shouldnt judge other christians and discriminate b/c they have different beliefs!
i think some people dont like Catholics b/c they used to persecute other faiths, and catholics also have very conservative beliefs which some believe to be unfair to women.
I'm sorry your friends mom is being mean

Buffy do me a favor and read the information at the bottom of the page and then you'll have a better idea of why Catholics are looked upon with such malice and contempt.
