I know this is probably a dumb question. But I received my first ticket today and the officer never gave me a ticket but he also did not say he was letting me go. He just said have a nice weekend. Did I luck out?

If you did not sign or receive a copy, you did not get a citation. However, an officer can mail you the citation at a later time (within just a few days). This occurs normally after an accident or, in a situation where the officer doesn't feel safe or expects trouble if he gives the citation. But, in my opinion, you got a freeby. Enjoy it and slow down ;)

If you did not sign anything then you did not get a ticket. Hello Lucky. If you did sign something and he did not give you a copy then you need to call the department he is with to find out your court date. If you miss your court date then there can be a warrant issued for your arrest.
