look into colleges and universities next to you. Some community colleges offer 2 year programs (an associates degree) and some universities offer a bachelor degree in nursing. What you can do is do a google search for RN programs in your state. Then go to their website and check out the requirements for that course. I know good grades in high school are important specially in science and math.
If you want to find out if the medical field is for you, i suggest you go to a nursing home and see if you can get a job there as a nurse's aide or volunteer. It is the best way to get a feel for it at your age.

The best place to research a career in nursing (or any career) is the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook

Here's their information page on registered nurses http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos083.htm

You might also consider a career as a licensed practical or vocational nurse. see more here:
http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos102.htm

Btw, I believe nurses that work with pregnancy/childbirth are called nurse/midwives. There's more on that at the above site.

it's a lot of reading, I agree, but it should help clear up your confusion, and help you with deciding your career choce. Best of luck to you!
