I don't think it is fair that individuals of a particular religion tell others with different beliefs to leave the forum. They say that this forum is for members of a certain mainstream religion only. I honestly find that childish!
This category is "Religion and Spirituality"...all people with religious beliefs and views on spirituality are welcome here, if they are willing to follow the guidelines Yahoo has set out.
I dont appreciate being told to leave because I dont belong to a particular mainstream religion!
Comments?

NOTE!! I'm NOT talking about people being told to leave for being rude (that I agree with), I'm talking about being told to leave for not being a certain religion.

Dont you think thats RUDE?

YES, I think all intollerant people should be force to be tollerant like us or leave. We can't tollerate those who are intollerant ...which makes us intollerant. But lets not confuse this important issue with facts.

They would be OK if they would just be more accepting and open minded like us. But it is impossible to believe anyone could ever be open minded and accepting enough to embrace THOSE GUYS. I know I can't so let's join together and tell them they aren't wanted in this forum because they don't believe like we do and we are right!

OK?

Let's start by calling them names like RUDE!

WHEW!

I'm glad you asked an actual question there, at the end, as rants violate the Guidelines.

This is a public site.

Anyone who is willing to abide by the Guidelines for its use should be able to use it.

As an atheist (who doesn't frequent this category, BTW), I can't say how many times I've answered questions that were specifically addressed to atheists.

Nor can I count the number of times people have asked "What are atheists doing in this category?"

("Well, people keep asking questions of atheists, you dingbat!" -- of course, I don't call them dingbats in writing, but yell it at the computer screen.)

It's funny, but this is the second time today I've recounted this story.

A while ago -- weeks or months (but I think I starred it, so it might be in my -- short -- starred list), someone asked atheists what we do in situations where the asker prays.

That is, in situations where she thinks, or perhaps mutters, a little prayer -- what do people who don't believe in god do in those situations, she wanted to know.

I thought that was a hecka cool question, and exactly the sort of thing that this site is the best thing for.

I mean, it wasn't one of those "You scum-suckers never feel love, you couldn't, without GOD" sorts of non-questions, but a genuine curiosity about how people who don't talk to a someone act.

Do we do something equivalent, or nothing, or what?

I've seen other genuine questions, by believers, of atheists, where they were wanting to know what we actually think and feel.

Most of the time -- and this drives me nuts, as the same thing does in Politics category -- people AREN'T actually asking, and end up choosing an atheist-bashing non-answer, instead of an honest answer from the people they're asking.

It's not about the points, or MY not getting Best, but the fact that a bunch of people answered the question, and it turns out the person was lying in asking, and not at all interested in understanding.

But I digress (which I do so well).

Yes, it's rude of people to tell other people not to post here.

First, it's not like you have to specifically come into this category; the questions are listed in lots of places.

But more so because it's a public forum, open to all.

And most of all because it COULD be a place where sincere people can ask genuine questions and get honest answers from those whose beliefs they want to know more about.

That IS, after all, one of the basic, and best, purposes of this entire site.

I don't put any value to those comments. Therefore they don't bother me in the least. Its like someone calling me a purple slop monster. I know it isn't true and don't give it any further thought. This forum is the most active and most contravesial one there is. This is the fastest place to get an answer and lots of them. If you want to receive fewer answers, ask a deep question that these minds can't entertain. Welcome and stay as long as you like. I don't care what your religion or lack of. Have a great Day!

I couldn't agree with you more. I am a Christian who loves to learn about different religions and forms of spirituality. HOLD ON RADICALS, I said learn, not convert. If someone truly believes, they will secure enough in there relationship with God to not fear differing points of view. The only way we can heal the wounds of this world is to listen to each other, accept that we are all different and pray.

Yes. Absolutely. All people have the right to be on here as long as they are respectful of others beliefs. You could try reporting those individuals that suggest such a thing. I was once diciplined for suggesting that if people are upset by disrespectful questions...that they should simply not answer them. Here we go again...

My kinfolk replaced into shifting from Dallas, TX to the Bay area in CA. on the way, we stopped in Salt Lake to bypass to kinfolk and bypass see Temple sq.. i replaced into 9 and it replaced into my first time (that I remembered) being there or at any of our temples. As we've been walking with the aid of temple sq., a ultimate peace got here visiting me, "crammed me" (that's what it felt like), and that i knew that it replaced into all genuine, that Jesus and Heavenly Father have been genuine, that the temple replaced into their residing house, and that i replaced right into a member of their Church. Up till that component my faith replaced into in my mom and father. I depended on them and believed they have been telling me the certainty; yet and then have, I knew for myself that God and Jesus Christ have been genuine and that the LDS Church incredibly replaced into Christ's Church. My testimony of those truths has grown on the grounds that then and extra suitable to different suggestions, yet that replaced into the initiating...as quickly as I first felt relatively switched over.

I'm right there with you.

I also think it's rude to thumbs-down people on the questions which are polling people to see which religion they are.

It's pretty dumb when a person answers "Christian" or "atheist" (or whatever else) and they get thumbs-down for it.
