because people see a few crazies and judge the whole religion by it. it's pathetic.

i would love to see a news story focusing on a good muslim citizen, like those stories you see sometimes talking about what a good community member so-and-so it. but they don't do that, despite the large number of people like this.

where i live, the local homeless shelter is run by a muslim. 2 years ago when a christian was running it, they did a story on it. a muslim takes over and actually improves it (they built an extra housing wing and started more fundraisers to help out), and you don't hear anything about it. it's media bias, plain and simple.

The problem with this POV is that a great percentage of Muslims do NOT hold this position to be true. Those that do hold this position to be true don't speak out against that violate these ideals.

If Muslims that believe like Layla won't stand against those who are corrupting the Muslim faith and bringing shame and disgrace to Allah, then where is their faith in their own religion? And how will they expect not to get shot as a non-believer? Blowing up innocent women and children and those not at war with Allih are imprisoned, tortured and murdered in Iraq by Muslims everyday....but it isn't limited to there. Iraq is only reported more often.

I have no beef with Muslims. I think you are under an illusion, just like all the other religious people in the world. Its hard to explain. I love you all. There are Psychos in every religion so muslims aren't special. I think religion is a little unfortunate. If a disease kills thousands of people, we are searching for a cure. Religion has killed many many millions but there is no search for a cure. I think all pathes eventually lead to the same place. Some paths go round and round and back and forth for a very long time before they reach their destination. Life is a Journey not a destination, anyway. A salam alakim.

Islam (in general) does not police itself. The so called good Muslims don't stand up and fight and take their country and make it peaceful.. ie Iraq. There must be enough good Muslims to take over the country?? or are we just using it as a battle place against bad Muslims?
Don't know if you get what I mean, but it is like:
If good men do nothing then bad will prevail..

The media doesn't say that Muslims are all bloodthirsty psychos. I see Muslims every day, and they seem to get along just fine. There ARE radicals out there, however, who are scary - but most people have a sound enough mind to know that there's a difference between a religion and its radicals.

Everyone is their own person, no one likes to be stereotyped or put in a "box", labeled with out getting to know you. Like it or not, statistically speaking, people from "that" culture, background, tradition, what ever you want to call it, have produced enough acts of terrorism etc. where using reasonable caution is unfortunately justifiable.
Think about the bias towards Americans. Not all of us fit the "mold" but enough do that we are typecast as the "immoral spoiled rich kids" of the world. It is up to each of us individually to prove them wrong, (Or smack your brother or neighbor upside the head, " HEY you are giving me a bad reputation! knock it off! :-)

Yes, but many Muslims do these horrible thing in the name of Islam and the many Muslims who oppose murder/suicide and quick recourse to violence are not marching in the streets in the West.
