Check out silverlabs.com
They do puppy reservations and shipping. You usually have to reserve in a hurry as puppys from breeders go really fast if it a popular breed. It took me a year to get my minature dashund and I was on 3 waiting lists for a year.
The price is (yikes considering i only paid 550 for my dog) 1000 dollars with a 200 dollar deposit.

My advice is to look into this very carefully...there are yellow and black labrador retrievers and golden retrievers, but no such breed as silver retrievers. I'm curious as to whether some puppymillers are crossing labs with weimeraners to create a "silver"color. In that case the dog would be a mutt, not some "special" color of retriever.
Please tell your brother's girlfriend to beware of such scams and to only support responsible breeders.
From the Labrador Retriever Club:
"SILVER" LABRADORS
There is no genetic basis for the silver gene in Labradors. The silver color is a disqualification under the Standard for the breed. The LRC does not recognize, accept or condone the sale or advertising of any Labrador as a silver Labrador. The Club opposes the practice of registering silver as chocolate.
Here are some suggested questions one can use to determine if a breeder is truly responsible:
1. Is she an AKC registered breeder of good standing and an active member of her breed Parent Club?
2. Are there AKC Champions listed on the pedigree, showing that the breeder spends her time & money to prove the quality of her breeding stock through competition?
3. Are all the animals kept in clean, comfortable, healthy, loving circumstances?
4. Did the breeder conduct extensive interviews with you and every member of your family?
5. Have the sire & dam received all available health clearances, (eg. OFA Hip & Eye, Thyroid testing, THESE VARY FOR EACH BREED)
6. Is she willing to honestly discuss any possible genetic defects that may exist in her line?
7. Does she have a Sales Contract?
8. Does the contract contain a clause stipulating that you spay or neuter the puppy before it reaches a certain
age?
9. Does the contract contain a clause stating that if at any time in the puppy's life, you can no longer care for it, it must be returned to the breeder? (This ensures that no animal bred by this breeder will ever end up in a shelter).
10. Will the breeder maintain contact with you for the life of the puppy to answer questions and help in general?

A "silver" Retreiver is nothing more then a sales tactic used to sell a Lab that is not bred to standard and is of a disquilified color.
Dogs advertised with this color need to be avoided.
Read the Labrador Retreiver Standard... www.akc.org

There are many dog breeds that are Reteiviers. Unless she knows which breeds she is looking for than I have no idea which one to even suggest.
As Far as Golden Reteiviers go there is no such thing as Silver.

Silver Retriver is merely a nickname given to both the aultra light Goldens and Labs. It is a color of a breed not a unique breed.

It's not an AKC breed. Basically they took a lab and bred in a white/grey coat color. They are beautiful, but it is an added gene to the breed from outbreeding. I'm not sure if APR are registering them yet either.
They run about $1200.

I never heard of those. There are silver and charcoal labs, though. Check out www.velvetangellabradors.com.
