Would you believe a person who said they loved you but disrespected your mother?

How do you think Jesus feels about this?

TO MAKE THINGS VERY CEAR CATHOLICS DON'T WORSHIP MARY. We honor her and love her as the most holy mother of Jesus.

As a Protestant, I respect Mary just fine. I don't venerate, worship, or adore her, however.

Mary was a sinner in need of a Savior just like you and I.

I respect the mother of Jesus very much.I do not believe that Catholics worship Mary. The problem arises when you put Mary on a par with Jesus," holy Mary, mother of God,pray for us sinners". We have a intercessor, and it is Jesus. If you think you need another in heaven then you diminish the power of God.

I don't believe that protestants disrespect Mary, they just don't worship or pray to her. Actually, I would argue that protestants do respect Mary. She is an important character in the New Testament and deserves our respect. But there is a difference between respect and worship. Mary never claimed to be deity nor are there any scriptures that suggest that she is.

I do not have a hard time respecting the mother of Jesus. She was truly blessed among women. But she died. She did not ascend into heaven, as Jesus did. She died. The word of God says that the dead do nothing. They do not love, hate, or anything else. They are asleep awaiting the judgement. This goes for all who died. Even Mary. She cannot intercede for you, dead saints cannot intercede for you. Yes, the prayers of the saints do work. But the saints must be alive, so that they are able to pray. The Bible says that we are all saints that believe in and worship Christ. Not just those that the catholic church says are saints. Most of those have already died. The dead do not pray.

I love Mary, as she was the mother of my Lord and Savior. No problem with respect here.

I'm catholic. Note the small 'c'. Find out what it means, if you don't know. The Lady of the Holy Roman Catholic Church is not the ghost of the virgin who gave birth to our Lord Jesus Christ. She is the real Ghost, the Comforter. I love Her very much.

I respect her as the most blessed woman on earth but I don't believe we should worship her. Actually, there is very little in the Bible about Mary and I think there is a reason for that.

I think you need to be more specific. I am protestant and have no problem with Jesus' mother. Most protestants do not pray to her but that does not mean we disrespect her. For the most part, protestants believe in going directly to the source to pray and not praying to saints.

Perhaps you need to be more open to other types and variations of religion

Mary was not perfect or God. Mary was the vessel that God chose to Have Jesus. We should not make an idol out of or pray to Mary. The saints are all of Gods people weather in heaven or on the earth. I would never pray to another saint in heaven or on earth. Catholics do not even read their bibles. They ask the priest not God for forgiveness. I would recommend to read the bible for yourself and come up with your own conclusion not what the priest tells you to think.

Why is it that Protestants have a hard time respecting the mother of Jesus?

respect for mary is not an issue for she is revered & looked to as amodel for all women to aspire to.

what is hard & infact impossible is that we elevate her to be a CO-REDEEMER, to venerate prayers or worship her in any way. she was a great woman of faith she is not the Messiah.
