If you own the gun, and it's clean, then sell it. A gun shop would probably be your best bet. If you throw it away, and someone uses it or has an accident with it, you could face jail time. Do not remove the serial number. If you are caught with it, it is a federal offense.

Why? Have you killed someone with it? Did someone else kill someone with it? Was it used in a robbery? Are you an idiot?

Seriously, if its clean, list it for sale on www.gunbroker.com and make a little cash off it. If its not, then your probably a felon who isnt allowed to own one anyway.

Some questions....

Are you serious. Sell it to any gunstore or pawn shop.

The question you are asking is like "I have too much money, should I flush my wallet full of cash down the toilet?"

dismemble each part of the handgun, wash each part in a bucket of chlorine. then take it out and scrape off the serial number with something strong. take each part and burry it each 50 miles away from eachother, in a forest where someone is least likely to find. then you are set.

don't forget to scrape off the serial number really GOOOD because sometimes police can recover the serial code even if it's scraped off because it's not scraped off good enough!!! so do it real clean and real nice.
