Without a doubt. You might offend both Catholics and Pagans. Plus Catholics aren't really Pagans they are just very paganish.

Pagans are nature-oriented polytheists and Catholics are Trinitarian Christians that Protestants split off from in the 16th century. It would be not only inaccurate but intentionally offensive. The Protestants got all their Christianity from Catholicism from the canon of the New Testament to the creeds. To call a Catholic, Orthodox or other creedal Christian apagan inhis beliefs would be ignorant on every level.
Would a A o G or Southern Baptist be insulted if he were called a "shallow heretic"? Would he be offended?Need you guess ?And the intent would be to insult,of course.

It would be just as inaccurate as calling a Baptist a Jew.
As for "offensive", that depends on how the speaker is using the word "Pagan". Though I suspect in this context it might mean "you're a heathen and a blasphemer", which would be offensive to Catholics. Not to mention actual Pagans too.

I am Catholic, and would say that it's an inaccurate term. Paganism, in its many forms, is generally understood to be a non-Christian belief system. However, Catholics are Christians. So to label a Catholic as a pagan would be misleading, and some Catholics might deem it offensive, as would some pagans.

Hey name calling is bad anyway you toss it. Catholics are very staunch in the traditions. And have actually cleaned up somewhat. Got a ways to go though. Mass on Sunday is for one purpose only and that is to celebrate the life of Christ and remember his death and why he died. That is why there is Communion every Sunday. We do not hop around or beat tambourines alot just quietly remember Jesus ever Sunday. The Church has done some incredibly bad things throughout the centuries and should not be forgotten. The Church is has become a machine but the purpose of Mass has not changed. I have been able to go to Mass and pray but I do not support the crazy crap the church (Pope) tries to put out.
If you call me a Pagan to my face I will kick you in the shins.

It's more offensive to distort Jesus' Church in order to achieve a mixture of Christian and non Christian followers. Jesus nor the Apostles made this concession in their teaching and neither should have the Roman Catholics. It would have been better to offer God a few of those that believe the truth than to bring a multitude of those that submerge themselves in paganism and distort that which is Holy.
God is Holy and sin is sin no matter how you say it.
God Bless You

A Catholic is a Christian. We believe in Jesus as the son of God and our savior, we belive in the trinity, the Father the Son and the Holy spirit, just like any other Christian denomination, Protestants are just jealous we were the first Christians and not them.
So yes it is very offensive.

Yes, because the word "pagan" suggests that they are not Christian. I suppose you could refer to Catholicism as "Christianity with a heavy Pagan influence". No offense intended to Catholics.

Probably only offensive to a Catholic. I tend to see it as a good definition.

would it be offensive for someone to call you a pagan? Do unto others what you would want them to do to you.
