My puppy is only about a year old and he is now teething(sp). But it has gone way too far! He has chewed up a snow glove, his bed, TONS of stuffed animals, my T.V. channel changer, and all of his toys behind my back! Now I have no idea how too stop it! Please tell me what I should do! I'm not giving him away or putting him down so don't even bother writing that down! If you can tell anything I can do or any books that would be great! Thanks so much!

Well guess what? Im having the same problem too. There is this stuff you can buy at any pet store called bitter apple. What it is,is a basic bottle with this stuff you spray on things so when you puppy goes to chew it it taste bitter and will learn that chewing wrong. I found it to work. It is meant for animals and is non toxic. Give it a try.

HI, I had the same problem with a black lab I had. To be honest not sure if they will ever learn not to chew on certain things. So if i was you I'd be careful on where you place all the things that you know he will chew when your not around. keep everything organized in places he does not reach. Maybe he is bored and seeking for some attention.. Take him to the park so he can play and waste all energy on that. You should also try to by him bones that are suitable for him.

I got my dog, chew toys called "Kongs". I am not too sure that is how you spell it. They are avalible at PetSmart. They are great, because you can put a treat inside and they have to work at it for a while before they get it out.

The good news is he's going to outgrow some of it. I agree with Dave on the obedience training. Also lots of walks and exercise with you leading him and not him leading you. I know that's easier said than done sometimes. Be patient and be consistent. Good Luck!

He is a year so he shouldn't really be teething anymore.

He is bored and needs professional training. Dogs are destructive when are are bored, don't get enough exercise, and are untrained.

Check you Cesar Milan's website. Really good training and behavior info:

I can tell you what to do. Enroll yourself and the dog in a good obedience course. Best advice.
