Or, as a woman, could you protect your home?

Good lord America, I'm asking this from the UK.

No hand guns etc, just a dog if you're lucky.

And if you respect animals and live in a flat, then that's a no no.

So, can she?

any person has the right to protect themselves, their family or their property. your gender does not affect that right. im assuming your from the uk. if you do use a weapon make sure it is one that is on hand do not leave the room to get one as that is premeditation

Of course I could (and did MANY times). When I was married (I have been divorced for almost 7 years), he was in the military (Navy) and away on deployments (left on his ship) a lot...for a year worth of work-ups, then out for a 6 month deployment and then all over again. I would never rely on him to protect me or the home we had.

What can a man do that I can't? Hold and fire a gun? Nope, I can do that. Activate an alarm system? Nope, I can do that, too. Take a bat across the intruder? Nope, I can do that as well.

Yes, hubby RAF 26 years, works in Africa now 6wks there 2 wks leave - why would you ask? I'm disabled too, so even in the politically correct UK I'd belt 'em with me stick! or clout 'em with me crutches! I'm quite sure they couldn't class them as offensive weapons! My dogs would probably get to them first though! My dogs, my house their territory - they break in they take the chance they pay the price!!!

If you're talking about fire - make a fire plan, know your exits, which windows open wide enough to get out - fit window sill ladders.make sure the batteries in your fire alarm work.

Have a phone in the bedroom.

Yes I can protect and defend my home. This one and the one that was mine alone.

My wife shoots Expert in handgun, and long gun. On shotgun (12 gauge) she shoots 24/25.

I'll let you draw your own conclusions.

Edit: With the Defender we have in the umbrella stand, she wouldn't miss. 12 gauge high base. If she did...she has her personal preference of weapon which is my old S&W 59

What was the point of the question?

my husband been away for a few days and so far ive protected my home pretty well. my house alarm has loads of setting which i use during the day ie. windows only, up/downstairs only. i keep my phone close and have great neighbours. and if that fails, my dog will eat anyone who come in.

what difference does it make if your male or female protecting your home? do you think the intruder knows whos inside??

undesirable thought. counting on the breed, maximum dogs will instinctively preserve their kinfolk. I even have individually had my life stored two times with the aid of dogs. as quickly as with the aid of a Sheltie mixture, and as quickly as with the aid of a Cocker Spaniel, have self belief it or not! The dogs desires to be nicely bonded at the same time with your spouse. very nearly each dogs below the solar will bark a warning if some thing is amiss. If it incredibly is a great dogs, that would desire to be adequate to scare off a might-be criminal. attempting to coach your dogs to be a shield dogs isn't some thing that would desire to be tried with the aid of somebody who does not comprehend what he's doing. you may land up with a dangerously aggressive dogs. it would be plenty extra perfect to make confident your house is as risk-free because it incredibly is. Trim lower back the hedges so there are actually not any hiding places for burglars, set up lifeless-bolt locks on the doors, get an alarm equipment. in case you would be unable to discover the money for one, basically purchase the stickers that say you have one! maximum criminals will seek for an less demanding aim than playing on whether or not you're bluffing. positioned up some "pay attention of dogs" signs and indications, and purchase the main important dogs residing house you will stumble on and positioned it conspicuously in the exterior. might-be burglars seek for issues like that, and bypass on homes that have them. if your spouse isn't frightened of weapons (and you have not any infants in the residing house), purchase her one and take her to a form to check the thank you to apply it. If she is anti-gun, purchase her some pepper spray. To count on your dogs as her mum or dad, she could take the main effective function in that is life and convenience. She could walk him, groom him, play with him, and feed him. whilst he knows firmly and incredibly she is his kinfolk, and the giver of all issues that are sturdy, he will preserve her along with his very life. you would be unable to coach love!

Well - girfriend. But she tends to be a little crazier than I, I have no doubt she'd put some rounds down range if she had to.
