Last september I had arthroscopic surgery of my right knee. I still get stiffness after walking or exercise. Lately, I have noticed my right foot pointing outwards while walking and now i have developed pain in my calf when I walk. I am considering partial knee replacement in the near future.
I was wondering if some one has had a similar experience I would also like someone to share with me their experience if they had a partial knee surgery done.
Any information would be appreciated. If no objection I would also ike to contact for a follow up question(s).
thx

Yes, I had the same surgery, you MUST do the exercises that the doc tells you to do ! Did they send you to PT (Physical Therapy) as an outpatient? They should, that helps 100%.

Keep moving that knee and whatever you do do not keep it immobile for long periods of time, you need to work those muscles back to normal again. Knee surgery is very tricky, sometimes it works, sometimes it don't . Mine did not and I have pain 75% of the time, however, knee replacement is totally out of the question, I have seen people who have had it done and they say they wish they never did it. Recovery is super long and it is not 100% guaranteed.

Best of Luck!

I've never had arthroscopic surgery before but I've had some of the symptoms you describe because of dealing with osteoarthritis.

It's possible that this may be what you have but I would recommend contacting your dr for further evaluation and maybe even a rheumatologist (a dr that treats diseases and disorders of the bones and joints).

Yes, you can contact me if you have further questions by e-mail or IM away from the board.
