I did work experience in a boarding kennels and they told me that some of the dogs wouldn't poop in their kennel because they were so well house trained & they considered the kennel to be their house. They'd wait until they were walked - problem was the kennel was understaffed and on for the few days I could bare working there I didn't see one dog walked (despite my volunteering). If this has happened to your dog it might have blocked him up. A trip to the vets shouldn't cost too much as he'll prob just need an enema. Just remember to stand well back when he does go!

Please take your pooch to the vet. He obviously has an obstruction of some sort. I board my dogs out to a kennel that uses shredded paper for bedding. I also bring their own blankets. I've never heard of a dog to eat sawdust. Maybe he picked up some sort of parasite. Also, if you rub Vaseline on his front paws he will like it off because its annoying. In the meantime, the Vaseline lubricates his plumbing. This also works for hairballs in cats.

Is he drinking? Was he on his own food or something they provided? A change in diet usually leads to diarrhea, not constipation. That being said, if the vet determines it is constipation then cheap canned dog food (something with a lot of water and fillers) or canned pumpkin on his regular food will help things get moving along.

What I think is needed is a quick, pain-free physical evacuation. If you have the courage, you could do it but best left to the Vet. It won't hurt him but you will cry when he looks up at you with a thankful face. Hope it is nothing worse. Don't guess...go to the the Vet.

Sounds like severe constipation.Your'e dog is in a lot of discomfort. If you can get to a chemist today as an emergency measure, buy a bottle of liquid parrafin to grease your dogs insides. If you get no luck, get the vet to give Lacotaose liquid , a couple of spoonfuls ,will get your dog moving.Don't leave it too long as your dog will become very ill with toxin build up.Good luck.

Call the vet.
A time at kennels could have caused destructive behaviour which means he could have eaten anything..either that or he may have an infection.

He needs to see the vet. He could have a bowel obstruction which could be life threatening. He may need surgery to correct. Might cost you a few thou.

You really need to get this dog to the vet - it's possible he's got an obstruction. Even if he's just constipated, the cause needs to be determined to help him. He's in pain already, so please don't delay.
