Maybe. But not in this lifetime.

I think that if there ever was a day that all people followed the same religion, that this world would be a very boring place, there wouldn't be any philosophical discussion, and a lot of cultural characteristics would be gone. It would be a sad day indeed.

Is this a trick question? Actually I believe the answer is yes. The Bible tells us that when Jesus comes back to get those who trust in him that eventually the wicked will be slain and only the righteous will remain. So then we will be able to worship in spirit and in truth as one people under one God.

Unfortunately until then there are 2 "religions". There are only 2 choices in life. Either you follow Christ or you follow Satan, the broad road that leads to destruction or the straight narrow one that leads to eternal life. Its pretty cut and dry.

I don't think so. There are too many personal experiences and different perspectives for everyone to agree on a single religion, or lack of any religion, for that matter.

the fastest growing religion in the world today is islam, but by far the fastest growing belief system is secular humanism (which christians mistakenly call 'atheism').

i think it unlikely that we will ever see a time when everybody is brave enough not to need to be told what to believe.

but we are moving in the right direction.

There will come a day when there are no religions..just people following their own individual spiritual paths or not as they choose.

I suppose you could say that.

Finally one day all the children of God will either be in Heaven or Hell.

Nobody will have any doubts then as to what "religion" was true.

No, you can't even get people in a small town to believe the same thing.

You assume they'll follow any. I'd like to think that eventually we'll outgrow all the superstitious religion nonsense.

Yep, when Jesus comes there will be but one religion. Just before that time there will be two, the one God began and the one the beast will try to force on people. Very close to that time now.

I doubt it, people are so different and I can not imagine a time when everyone will believe the same thing.
