I've been having a lot of fainting spells, and I had my most severe one this morning - where I sprained my wrist, injured my back, and got a concussion/contusion. Anyway. The ER doctor referred me to a cardiologist, to have some tests one. I've seen one before - I have MVP. What kind of tests will they be running on me?

I had this problem a couple of months back. Found out I have APLS (an anti-immune diease) and occasionally high PVCs.(where your heart has an extra beat and sometimes beats slow) Anyway, I went through a series of test. A CatScan was done as well as an EKG and echocardiagram. I did wear a holter and did the stress test (echocardiagram where you run on a treadmill). They also did a bubble study echocardiagram (were they put saline with air bubbles in your vein to better see your heart). They also referred me to a neuroligist. Neither of the tests were painful.

Well 1st thing they would do is an EKG. They might put you on a Holter monitor (like an EKG but you wear it for at least 24 hrs), or they might do an echocardiogram to look at the blood flow in your heart, or they might want to look at the blood flow in your neck by Doppler. There might be others. It all depends on what they think you have.
