Today I have read answers from people who feel that Christians who are being imprisoned, tortured and murdered in many parts of the world deserve this because of the actions of false Christians during medieval times and the Spanish inquisition. This is not a "persecution complex" as a person announced to me once.Go to the Voice of the Martyrs website and learn the truth for yourself.People actually condone the torture of Christians and claim it's because we hate Muslims or they use some other excuse.I don't hate anyone. I was not involved with any of the atrocities committed by false Christians during medieval times and neither were any of the other Christians I know. Satan has used false Christians to deceive the world into hating those who truly follow Jesus and the world blindly accepts the idea that Christians are hatemongers. When I speak to the hard core God haters about the love of Jesus I am treated with nothing but contempt and I still care and pray for them. This is not hate.

I agree Dahlia and I know Christians aren't the only people in the world who suffer. It's heartbreaking to see people hurt others for any reason. My belief is that hate for people comes from Satan, because God only hates sin. This is because sin detroys lives. I used to hate people in return if I knew they hated me, but Jesus has changed me. I feel deep sorrow for those who don't know the love of Jesus and who hate Him and all who follow Him. I sincerely pray for them as I pray for my brothers and sisters in Christ who are suffering in many parts of the world because of their witness and love for our Savior. God bless all who have answered this question with a caring heart and I hope someday those who answered with contempt will come to know God and will receive His blessings also.

Paien, I was not the one who gave the incorrect definition of "persecution complex" when I was being insulted because of my faith. This accusation came from a non-believer who displayed his hatred for Christians very openly.

Sun, you are wrong. A true follower of Jesus does not hate, torture and murder, but for the sake of your argument, do you think this is a valid reason to do this to Christians or anyone else?

The following is an answer posted today by Moiraes Fate.
"Uhhh so?
How does this compare with the medieval tortures devised by Christians?
Like the one where a person was suspended over a pointed pole with with ropes attached to their limbs, then repeatedly raised and lowered slowly so that their tailbone repeatedly hit the point of the pole and eventually, over hundreds of these actions, broke.
Or medieval water torture where the so called loving Christian tied up their victim and poured water down the victims throat, and then emptied it end repeated the procedure so that the victim felt the repeated sensation of drowning? That one was used by the Spanish Inquisition.
Do you want me to continue? All you have to do is google it. There are hundreds..."
I know this is one example, but I assure you I'm not "making it up". I have read others, however I wish you would do further research for yourself if you care to.

yogi, "herein lies the problem.
the so called false christian defense is used every time that your church uses the bible and it's people to commit horrendous acts of inhuman proportions."
Herein lies the problem, yogi, you are wrong. Your way of thinking is wrong . You are so filled with hate, you are unable to discern the truth. God still loves you very much and He's waiting for you to choose love rather than hate.

Again, I am seeing answers from people who are defending their hatred by blaming it on those whom they hate.

Yes Yogi the attitude you have displayed is FULL tolerance. My own tolerance however does not include condoning the torture and murder of anyone by saying they deserve it because they do that to other people which is clearly a lie.According to your own statement,YOU should know that a Christian is to witness the gospel of Jesus to others.Would your overwhelming tolerant nature allow a Christian to witness to you without being treated with contempt? You justify intolerance towards Christians and when we ask why,you call us intolerant. My prayer is that you will use your analytical mind and "tolerance" to really read the answers Christians receive when they post questions. Please allow us to be human and understand that the constant bombardment of contempt and animosity may cause a degree of defensiveness.Sorry but yes,we are human. This is where a lot of people call us hypocrites.I truly feel the love of Christ for others.I will not lie to make my life easier. That's what FALSE Christians do

Definition of a false Christian: anyone who claims to be a Christian but who clearly does NOT follow the teachings of Christ.
Definition of close-minded: anyone who rejects an obvious truth because it contradicts their own biased opinion.

Labgrrl, there are literally thousands of Christians who are suffering horrific persecution in many parts of the world who are native born citizens of their country. Do you also condone their torture and murder? The reality is that missionaries are in the minority when it comes to being persecuted, but people such as yourself who make comments concerning issues you know nothing about, always jump at the opportunity to attack missionaries when someone brings up the subject of the persecution of Christians. Why should ANYONE be persecuted for their beliefs? Should you be persecuted for yours??

You are right.
I read just the other day, that a priest and three deacons were shot just after Mass by Muslims. They were in a car. After murdering them, the car was wired with explosives so no one could get to the bodies and remove them. These dead men were there fore hours.
In Pakistan a Christian man was just sentenced to death for speaking ill of Muhammed. They use this law frequently to persecute Christians.
America is not aware of the persecution of Christians. Just as we were unaware of the persecution of the Jews and Christians during the holocaust.
Trying to justify persecution for past crimes is unconscionable.

The "persecution complex" is not what you've described: the persecution complex is the thought that American Christians are being tortured because they can't force their views on everyone through schools and the government. A common example: "Christians" say prayer's not allowed in public schools. In reality, prayer IS allowed in schools, it is just not allowed to be ordered by the school.
It's not right to torture ANY people. I don't support the torture and murder of Christians anywhere in the world.

I do not agree with it, however, I am not Christian. I am a Deist (raised Southern Pentecostal). I spent a large portion of my life as a Pagan and, in my research, have found that a lot of people are not lashing out at INDIVIDUALS, they are aiming their hate at the group. Hence, the danger of generalization. People have mostly been reared to believe that payback is something that is JUSTIFIED. These are problems that many revealed religions face. Sorry for the caps....can't figure out how to italicize.

Read the recent history of the Balkans. The people the Christians tried to commit genocide on there where not those that Christians call witches or heretics.
I guess the Jews burned out on killing during the times their God was micromanaging their conquests. Their offspring, Christians and Muslims, are still young enough to appear to enjoy killing and hating. G.W.B. is right up there on the "go gettim for God" trail.

The torture and murder of anyone isn't acceptable.
The people that are dying in Darfur, the Tutsis in Rwanda, the Palestinians, the Israelis, the Americans, the Iraqi.....
Religious wars are stupid. War is stupid.

I find no torture or murder to be acceptable. None.
But the Christians who committed the crimes you speak of were not false anymore than those who commit murders today are. Christians really need to stop using that line.

That's not acceptable to me, HOWEVER, I don't think it is alright for missionaries to go to countries where they are not welcomed and then expect to be extracted by the secular armed forces of my country, when they get into trouble, as has happened in Afghanistan and in parts of South America....
I think those Christians should not be rescued, as they are already violating the law (or lying) to get into the countries they have to be rescued from.
