God is a force. God is an energy. God is a Being that I can't even comprehend but I know is there.

This is such a good question!

Some people picture God as an old man with a white beard. But that's not God.

I believe in the beginning, God was alone in darkness and out of that darkness created light. God asked him/her self, "what am I not? I am everywhere. What am I not"?

And God realized, "I am not separate".

And the universe was created. Planets, stars, universes, the earth, animals, people and plants.

Now, a spark of the Divine resides in everyone, everywhere. In plants. In animals. In people. All carry within them the spark of the divine. We all can create. We do it every day. Even if all we do is pull the covers over our head and stay in bed all morning long....we created that day for us.

So......our goal as humans is to all join our consciousness into re-uniting with the spirit of God. And when we do, God and everyone will become One.

Best wishes.

I think that God is nature personified; a set of human-made characteristics attributed to a non-existant form so that ancient people could get a little bit of a grasp on their world and how it came to be. The creation of a god-entity also allows people to establish power over each other (ie by enforcing "God's rules") and offer some solace, often through the hope of an afterlife.

To simplify: I do not think that God (an actual being) exists, due to a variety of facts and philosophies. But I do think that the concept of a god-entity exists, and was created by ancient humans.

God is the conglomerate anthropomorphism that human beings use to represent everything that defies easy explanation....

In other words, he's there to save mommy and daddy having to tell little Timmy and Tammy "I don't know," quite so much...

I wish we could just accept that our knowledge is limited and not create all these "Santa Clauses" to try to seem wiser than we really are...Then we might actually learn more about the mysteries of life and existence itself...

Jesus gave the best description we have in The Apocryphon of John. He advised against trying to speculate on the subject because it was too far beyond our capabilities to comprehend.

God is beyond definition. But according to one's own vision, one will define God in one's own way. Some will say that God is all Love. Others will say that God is all Power. Each one will see God according to his own necessity, his own receptivity and, finally, according to the way God wants him to see Him.

A non-existent being invented by mankind centuries ago at a time when they were ignorant of how the world around them worked and came into existence. This being was taken over by men who used its name to threaten the populace into obedience and exercise control and power over them.

In more recent times although in general mankind has become more educated some still persist in blindly adhering to the belief in this non-existent being and the various stories that have built up around it despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.
