During all of Europe's and America's wars, every country seems to have claimed the side of righteousnouss and that the other side is evil. So even when all combatants are Christians, are the losers condemned to hell?

God doesn't take sides... So does that mean he's indifferent? Why do Christians always claim it then even when the enemy is Christian?

I'm mostly referring to the Christian god as that is the one I know most about.

I'm assuming what you mean by your question is, "So even when all combatants are Christians, are the losers [believed by the winners to be] condemned to hell? Otherwise what you'd effectively be asking is, "Does God take away the salvation of all combatants on the losing side of a war?" I'm sure you know enough about Christianity to be aware that such a belief would have no basis in Christian doctrine.

However, even with my assumed clarification, this still doesn't seem to be an honest question, which surprises me, since all of your previous questions appear to be sincere inquiries from an intelligent truth-seeker. This question seems to be more along the lines of, "See how dumb Christians are?" I've noticed that when a question has that as its agenda, it usually contains at least one built-in false premise or /non sequitur/. Dishonesty does have its consequences.

In any case, my honest answer would be an unequivocal *no*. Christian doctrine would say that any German, Japanese, Italian, North Korean, North Vietnamese, etc. combatants who had placed their faith in Christ would go to the same heaven as any American, British, French, etc. combatants who had done likewise. If church leaders in their respective countries said otherwise, they were guilty of false teaching and of misleading those under their care. If you'd like to investigate further, I would recommend the writings of German pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer, hanged by the Nazis for publicly opposing them.

Your question also raises the issue of God's "taking sides" in war and the seeming paradox between God's sovereignty and man's free will, but I think I'll save that discussion for another day.

Dude, honestly, the fact that you are asking that particular question should be enough to drive home the fact that there is no "God". Religion is almost always used as a ploy to convince others to do the bidding of those with vested interest in maintaining control over large populations of people.

If people have been duped into being brainwashed by the religions forces in this world, then it is easy to rally people behind a nations political will, through religion, by stating the "God is on our side". C'mon, it's alimentary stuff. Drop god and religion alltogether, learn about evolution, and science, and suddenly life will make a lot more sense.

This is why I'm atheist. There is no hell. Out of all religions I have researched, the one with the most contradictions is Christianity. The holidays commonly celebrated today are stolen from the "evil witches" of the Wiccan religion. Christmas is really Yule, Easter is really May Day, etc. Pagen religions are more believable to me, and they were around long before christianity was invented to wipe them out, but they just require too much effort...more than I can provide.

What do you mean "The Christian God." Jews, Muslims and Christians all believe in the same God, except that the latter also believe in Jesus as God.

I don't believe in good and evil, nor do I believe that God would ever side with anyone. I believe that those who live earnest lives, who follow whatever their faith dictates, who are kind to fellow human beings...those are the ones who go to heaven. But I also don't really believe that anyone goes to hell.

No. However they may be blown to Hell! Gehenna is just man's inadequate attempt to understand the total abscence of God's love in the afterlife. Just you and sin. Forever. Have a nice day!

I dont believe God would take sides in our pathetic human wars. He loves us all. God condemns no one to hell, we condemn ourselves by not accepting His invitation. If a person dies and they have accepted Jesus as their Saviour they go to heaven..full stop.

I believe the bible mentions "God forgives all". So naturally everyone wouldn't be condemened to the underground. As for wars, every country has fought for what they believe in and tried to spread it. The romans, goths, israelites, etc.
In my opinion war is natural and cannot be avoided until people think as one.

If Christians are at war with Muslims, they each have their own god and their own hell. Christians go to Muslim hell and Muslims go to Christian hell. But, from the point of view of the Muslims, the Muslims who go to the Christian hell are heroes, and go to Muslim heaven. Likewise, the Christians that go to Muslim hell go to Christian heaven. In the afterlife, it's perfectly ok to be in one heaven and another hell at the same time, because the laws of nature, which would ordinarily require us to be in only one place at a time, don't apply in the afterlife.
