God.

God created all things. God is the author of Truth.

Humans are created beings. If we leave out God, we're all on the same level. None of us have authority with respect to Truth. So if I say "We're all supposed to do X" and you say, "We're all supposed to NOT do X" there's no way to resolve the conflict. Even if 99% of people agree with me that we're supposed to do X, that doesn't necessarily mean that you're wrong because the idea of "majority rule" is yet another human idea with no authority behind it.

So without God there is no valid concept of Truth.

You could say "this is true FOR ME" but that doesn't really gain you anything. It's still just your opinion in a sea of differing opinions. For Truth to exist you need a source of Truth that trumps everyone and everything. That source is God.

God defines the truth and tells us about the truth by His word (Bible). But man can't/or don't want to understand half of it. So man interprets the word on what he thinks it is saying, Then man gets a swelled head and claims what he thinks it says, is the truth, and wants to teach everybody his truth. It hasn't always been this way, The Apostle Paul and the other Apostles did have and know the truth. And they taught the truth diligently, but even then man couldn't / or didn't want to understand half of it.It must have made Paul sad to know what lay ahead, He even warned us in the Gospels of what was to come. Just as God(Jesus) chose the chief sinner of all to be the Apostle to the Gentiles, He still chooses today a select few to reveal His truth. Many are called, but few are chosen. Where on this earth can you find the most diversity, disagreements, Jealousy and hatred? ........Religion !! (Christianity, and all its different denominations, Muslims, Buddhists, etc., etc.) And to know just how much diversity, disagreements, jealousy and hatred there is, keep on readings questions and answers on this forum.

God defines truth. Jesus said in John 14:6 "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father but by me."
Jesus is God. I John 5:7 The Father , The Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
As the Creater of the Universe, God Authored the laws of science and physics, and placed the stars in the heavens for signs and seasons and for years (Genesis 1:14)
As I have humorously explained to my children many times Jesus could walk on water, turn water into wine, calm the wind and waves with a spoken word, raise the dead, and seemingly break the laws of physics and have Authority over death because He has ALL authority in heaven and earth.
He created the universe by speaking it; therefore; if he wants to change or bend the laws of physics for his own pleasure, it is no different than you or me playing monopoly and slightly changing the rules for our own pleasure, such as putting the "Fine" money in Free Parking and whoever lands there eventually gets it. Since He Authored the rules of the universe, the universe is subject to his discretion.
Why? Because He said so. And God has a sense of humor. He created me.

It isn't a matter of defining truth.

Reality is real; true things are true.

People try to understand reality and distinguish true from untrue (well, some people do, others, not so much).

I could define my room as having no walls.

But if I try to walk directly into the living room -- whoops! no can do.

That's truth.

It isn't a question of "man" -- whatever you mean by that, as "man" isn't a thing, but an abstract concept referring to all humans as though they were all one thing -- or god, which doesn't exist -- "defining" anything.

True things are true.

The cat is on my bed.

Doesn't matter whether I don't want to believe it, or a mythical being says it's not so, there he is.

Apparently sleeping.

Big belly rises and falls.

If I said there was a unicorn on my bed, that would be NOT true.

If I said that that cat was on the front porch, that would be NOT true (at the time of my typing this).

Truth is undefinable, because truth is a relative word. What's true today, may not be true tomorrow. Even the idea of divine (absolute) truth is flawed, because every new god brings with it new truths. Without humans, truth is a meaningless word.

FACTS are definable within the limits of our understanding of the physical universe. If they weren't planes would not fly and electricity would not flow. Humans define facts for the purpose at hand, but even without humans, facts would still be facts.

You cannot define truth. Truth is absolute..it is what it is and cannot be changed.

The truth just exists. People try to angle it, skew it, reverse it, put on different colored glasses to look at it, change things they don't like, or do like...etc. and so on. But it remains complete and absolute no matter how we define it.

If someone lies on the witness stand, and gets the jury to believe that lie...have they altered the truth? No. They've altered perception of the truth. The truth remains whole and pure always.

God is pure truth. He cannot be changed or defined by us.

blind to the fact that man is in charge and in control

Unfortunately, if men believe something to be real, it's real in it's consequences. In other words, the truth is something that we choose to belief and that makes it the truth. Since we say it's 24 hours in a day, and we believe it.... well, that makes it's the truth.

The truth can only be revealed in results and consequences.

So for many reasons, I believe man defines what is truth because they want to believe certain things.

God, the fruit stolen from truth tree gave the man the capacity to create it's own truth, but human truth is a lie, that's why it's a sin

God does. He's the one that created truth in the first place. He IS truth.
Man's idea of "truth" has been corrupted by sin. Man's idea is that truth is merely a variable. That it can change depending on someone's opinion.
Truth is always constant.
