Naw. God gives you warm fuzzy "hunches" to you in order for you to make highly important life-altering decisions based on what other mormons think you should be doing in the first place.
Gordon already admitted he's not 'seen' god - only that he gets these little 'feelings'.
Perhaps it's the Viagra kicking in?

One of the prophets, I can't remember who it was, was suppose to have seen Cain, who he claimed was destined to walk the earth forever, he said he looked liek a bagabon and not very happy, a black man of course. Joseph Smith had an angel who was a demon come to him so he started the thing were you ask the angels if you can shake their hand and they are not suppose to shake your hand because resurrected being won't shake your hand, soemthing like that, but a christian knows that a demon probably has no body and if you shake its hand, there would be nothing there, the best thing to do is hope a person has discerning of spirits and knows if it is a demon or not. Or for those that don't have the gift, to test everything the angel says and see if it matches up with scripture.

God works in mysterious ways...Joseph F. Smith had a vision in 1916 I think. and yes Spencer Kimball had a revelation in 1978. Whether they saw God or Angels I don't know and they don't need to.

President Hinkley has never publicly claimed to have. His right to revelation is not dependent upon physical sight. Our individual privilege of revelation for our own callings and responsibilities does not depend on physical sight.

It's impossible for spiritual beings to be seen by our physical eyes, for they can only see a small amount of the electromagnetic spectrum.

They may have had some kind of spiritual visitation, but it was satan masquarading as an Angel of Light.
